Well that is pretty high but I guess you were in a stressful situation at the time so this can happen but don't worry,  if anything is shows you're heart is strong as it coped well with a high heart rate so use that to you're advantage 😊

Hi apayett,  it is very normal for both blood pressure and pulse to go extremely high when anxious, esp. going to the oral surgeon.  Mine goes off the wall before I even leave my house.  The oral surgeon told me he would rather it be high from anxiety than so low whereas something could happen.

I have to go to the doctor on the 6th it will be my first time leaving the house and my heart rate stays so low because I don't do anything I'm scared that if I try to do something or go my heart will give out because it's not use to the amount of energy and that has anyone done this before

Agora1 profile image
Agora1 in reply toapayett24

apayett,  I'm agoraphobic too, so I can understand your fear of leaving the house for your doctor's appointment.  Let me assure you that it is much better for your heart rate to be low most of the time rather than in a state of arousal both at home and out.  Your heart will adjust accordingly when you do get out and into the doctors.  It will not harm your heart when it goes up for that brief time due to anxiety.  It's when it stays at a high rate that an enlarged heart may develop since the heart is a muscle and the high rate is overworking it.  Most of us are going to have a higher rate at the doctor or dentist than at home.  Our hearts can tolerate that.  Try not to worry.   xx

I'm trying not to but I'm so scared of dying or losing my memory I just don't want to be another person forgotten and put into the ground I'm scared of everything I just want to be the happy joyful person I use to be

Agora1 profile image
Agora1 in reply toapayett24

I know you are scared apayett, I can hear it in your post.  Being agoraphobic and having anxiety is like a double whammy.  Since it is more than difficult  to go out anywhere plus the worry of anxiety itself.   I believe it is normal for everyone at one time or another to worry about dying or losing their memory.  In order to not be forgotten, you need to start living a life that will make a mark on your life and others.  Once you are fulfilled you will once again be the happy joyful person you use to be.  xx

It's so hard to believe that I'm even going to get better because I don't see the light at the end of this journey because I have had it rough since I was 5 years old thats when I started being scared and couldn't trust because one man took my safety away and it didn't stop there the last time it happened I was 19 and was kidnapped at and barely made it out of that situation

apayett,  I am so very sorry for all that has happened to you.  This is more than generalized anxiety.  Sounds like you have PTSD.  Were you or are  you in counseling?  What you have been through is traumatic and needs specialized therapy.  I hope you have found someone you can trust enough to talk with.  It's important so that you can heal.  My thoughts are with you.  xx

apayett24 profile image
apayett24 in reply toAgora1

I'm not in therapy I use to be but it didn't help and I try to talk to my family but it's hard to trust because of everything in this world

Agora1 profile image
Agora1 in reply toapayett24

I am so terribly sorry that therapy did not help..... This is too much for you to carry all these years.  I am at a loss as to what direction you can take.  The forum can help you with the physical symptoms but as for what the cause is, you need professional help.  Maybe someone on the forum who reads this can advise you. I hope so  apayett.  I pray you stay safe. x

Thank you right now I'm scared my heart will stop beating because I feel so tired and my heart feels like its beating slow is this normal

Agora1 profile image
Agora1 in reply toapayett24

As you sleepy, yes, your heart beats slower.  It's relaxed, no adrenaline coursing through your body.  Enjoy that feeling...

apayett24 profile image
apayett24 in reply toAgora1

What about when I'm not sleepy but my heart is slow I haven't been over 70 in almost two months now and that has me worried

Agora1 profile image
Agora1 in reply toapayett24

Hi apayett,  are you on any medications?  That can make  your heart beat slower, and below 70 is not too slow.  My heartbeat on meds is usually 55-60. Your doctor is the best one to ask.  x

apayett24 profile image
apayett24 in reply toAgora1

No I'm not on any medicine

In the 60's and 70's is a good pulse rate.  x

Ok I was just scared about it because I have to leave my house tomorrow and I'm scared of my heart going up

Agora1 profile image
Agora1 in reply toapayett24

apayett, it probably will go up tomorrow and it should not only because you are scared of going out but also because you will be more physical tomorrow.  And that's okay.  Let us know how you do after coming back tomorrow.  I will be wishing  you good thoughts for a successful day. I certainly know how debilitating going out can make us feel, but we have to think of it as a success no matter how small the steps.  x

Thank you I'm just so scared right now because they have to do blood work she just called me to tell me not to eat after 9pm I also keep shaking and feeling tired like my body wants to shut down

Agora1 profile image
Agora1 in reply toapayett24

I know you are scared apayett.   You're body will not shut down.  Keep telling yourself that you will be okay.  Try using some relaxation and deep breathing throughout the day today.  It will help calm your racing mind which I'm sure it's doing right now.  x

apayett24 profile image
apayett24 in reply toAgora1

Yes I'm scared that the doctor is going to tell me bad news like there is something wrong with me

Agora1 profile image
Agora1 in reply toapayett24

We all fear that, especially more so when we are suffering from anxiety.  There is no easy way around this except for using the  deep breathing techniques and relaxation as many times as you need to today.  Also YouTube has some wonderful meditation sites that  you can listen to.  I would choose the audio/relaxation ones for you. Anything  you feel comfortable with.  x

apayett24 in reply toAgora1

Ya I have been doing deep breathing but I'm just so scared because I don't leave my room

Agora1 profile image
Agora1 in reply toapayett24

I'm sure you won't be going alone, will you?  Maybe you can start today in walking around the house, and maybe even opening the door to outside while still in the house and breathe in the fresh air.

I'm glad that it is  your mom and sister going with you.  You've probably lost a lot of muscle from being inactive.  Just take it easy moving around.  I'm sure your family understand and will support you.

I feel funny my face feels numb I'm scared I have a tumor

Agora1 profile image
Agora1 in reply toapayett24

Hi honey,  you are getting yourself all worked up about tomorrow.  Try putting a washcloth under running warm water, wring it out and place is on your face.  It will help relax the facial muscles.  You'll be okay.   x

Do I have I tumor I get disoriented and confused and head pressure and things feel unreal

Agora1 profile image
Agora1 in reply toapayett24

Remember dear, we are not doctors.  We can only speculate that you are suffering from intense anxiety like the rest of us on this forum.  The head pressure and the feeling unreal is so a part of anxiety playing it's game with you.  Try to distract yourself if  you can.   x

Do you ever feel like you don't know who you are when you look in the mirror like your a stranger

Agora1 profile image
Agora1 in reply toapayett24

I don't get that sensation but many others on this forum do from anxiety.

apayett24 profile image
apayett24 in reply toAgora1

So it's normal

Agora1 profile image
Agora1 in reply toapayett24

I believe it may be from anxiety.  Maybe under the category of depersonalization. I'm not sure.

apayett,  hope your head feels better.   I don't know what time schedule you are on but don't forget, nothing after 9pm tonight.  Just wanted to wish you well tomorrow.  Try to get some sleep tonight, it will help you relax.  x

I don't go to sleep till midnight

Oh, you're a night owl like me.  I stay up late every night because that's when I feel my best.

apayett24 profile image
apayett24 in reply toAgora1

I stay up that late because if I make it past midnight I'll not die but that doesn't always work

Agora1 profile image
Agora1 in reply toapayett24

Interesting.  Does your anxiety level get lower after midnight?

apayett24 profile image
apayett24 in reply toAgora1

Not really it sometimes gets worse but I don't know how bad it will get tonight because of tomorrow and that 9pm is almost here

Agora1 profile image
Agora1 in reply toapayett24

You may surprise yourself and do well tonight but at least if you have a problem you will know that it's coming from the anticipation of tomorrow.  Sometimes when it comes out of the blue it's scarier.
