Looking for a little advice please.

Hi, I have been told that I may have a small degree of anxiety  and was wondering  if its possible to beat this on my own or do I need to see my GP ?

I have had a stroke, TIA and have suffered with dizziness and balance problems for quite a while.

I stopped going out on my own in case I had a fall etc which I know is daft , Dont like going shopping because of the crowds, but will go with my Husband.

I don't feel Anxious I don't think ?

I am looking for a little advice as im not sure what I need to do ?

Mine started slowly as well....I just thought I had a little bit of jitteriness and anxiety, but after two years of that it turned into a huge medical nightmare where I have trouble eating! My stomach is always in knots...so I hope you can find someone to talk to before it gets worse.

Hi Chick765827,

Sorry to hear you have had such a bad time and I hope things get better for you .

I will make an appointment with the GP and try to get it under control , thank you .

It is quite common to experience dizziness with strokes and Tia's for quite awhile after the event. You seem to have lost your confidence.Do go to your Dr. And explain what is happening to you. They may offer support that does not involve medication as some drugs make you experience unwanted side effects which will not help you In the long term.

It sounds like you have a very supportive husband and the best short term plan is to try and get out and about on short trips to the shops as often as you can or just go for a coffee etc and prove to yourself that you are still able to do the things you may have took for granted.Get you confidence back in small steps, but do not be disheartened if you get a bad day now and again, just keep

Positive and gradually you will gain back your confidence.Look into relaxation techniques and take up a new hobby that really takes you mind off worrying.Hope some of this is helpful...good luck.

Thank you and I will see my GP, but as you said I don't want to take medication I want to be able to do this myself I have already made a start by walking the dog I know its only a small step but I made a start and I am confident that I can take control of this.

My physio therapist said that I need to walk on uneven ground to help with the Balance issues so I have made a start , I am now looking at things in a positive way instead of negative and feel much better for it :)
