Anxiety vacation

Hi hello everyone. Anxiety kicking in for A May 9th trip to Florida ..  So much anxiety about being closed in on a plane.  Any suggestions?

I take Xanax for plane rides hate them go to the doctors and explain

I went on vacation to Tampa, FL in June 2015.  I was sooo worried about having a panic attack on the plane.  So my doctor prescribed me Ativan.  I  survived, and funny thing is, I didn't even take 1 pill.

Do NOT use meds. Benzos are addictive, and can backfire and make the flight worse. Take a look at my web site: fearofflying.com and my book, "SOAR: The Breakthrough Treatment for Fear of Flying."

This problem can be fixed but there is a LOT of junk out there (hypnosis, breathing exercises, etc) that claims to help but just sets you up for failure. My Psychology Today blog on that subject is at psychologytoday.com/blog/co...

Hi Edatis

I know you read my story so you won't be surprised to learn that I was afraid of flying too. Two fears for me: 1) like you,having a panic attack on a plane and not being able to escape 2) crashing!

I don't worry much about it anymore. I fly all the time and almost enjoy it now. It's pretty safe...but life's a risk. I no longer fear panic attack so

they seldom happen anymore.

Therapy and medication helped me face these situations.
