What's to say shortness of breath and chest pain is anxiety? What's to say it isn't something medical?!
Especially when I've not had any type of life to make me anxious... Why should I settle with it being anxiety? I've never been diagnosed with anxiety? So why am I sitting here with chest pain trying to ignore it as anxiety!!!!

Same here!! I have chest tightness & shortness of breath & it's been happening since Saturday off & on. I went to the doctor & I gave my symptoms & he automatically said it's anxiety. I believe I have anxiety because of the physical symptoms. I'm sitting here at home pretty relaxed & still have this going on. I'm almost ready to go to the ER...
That is it!!! The symptoms create anxiety!!! Why do they never do anything about it! I hate having my life on hold for all this, it's too short as it is! I've never had my neck checked? And I did get into a fight over a year ago where the girl pulled my hair extensions about a lot and hurt my neck... I always think back to that being around the time I started feeling so lightheaded? I also get pins and needles in my head, where it goes numb and I have to shake it to get the blood flowing again. But then o have had an MRI scan of my head, surely that would show any problems in the back of the neck?
You saying ER does that mean you're from the USA? I'm the same I've been fine all day! Actually had a really good day, it's not evening and my chest is tight and my hands are tingly.
Yes I'm from the USA 😊 living like this is absouley insane. I'm gonna post this story I found on the web. It made me feel a little bit better. It just takes some of the worry away.
I had this for 2 weeks only today were it's passed I always think there's something rong with me but then I think it's happened before and passed so just have to ride it out but at the time it's not a nice feeling at all hope you feel well soon
That's how mines was, it lasted a straight week I got some over the counter stuff thinking it was acid reflex it helped a little bit but I still get it. I always found it hard to explain all I could tell people is it didn't feel right & I couldn't breath & had chest tightness. It stopped I've been feeling good for an hour I hope this feeling last.
I say the same thing my primary doctor told me I'm extremely healthy, well inside I feel like a mess with all these physical symptoms. So I can't be that Heathly. He then prescribed me celexa witch I haven't taken. I get scared from all the side affects. I already feel like shit I can't be adding more problems.
Anxiety caused chest tightness can feel like a tension, pressure, gripping feeling, stabbing pain, muscle tension, burning, numbness, an uneasiness, or a fullness in the chest area (which includes the diaphragm—a sheet of internal muscle that extends across the bottom of the rib cage).
This chest tightness may be located in one, a few, or many spots in the chest area, or may move all over the chest area. The chest tightness may radiate to one or both shoulders; into the breasts; into the rib cage; into the sides of the abdomen; into the neck, throat, jaw, and head; and/or can be felt in the back and stomach areas.
This chest tightness feeling can also feel worse after eating, and cause a shortness of breath feeling.
This chest tightness can occur rarely, frequently, or persistently. It can be experienced as a dull, sharp, stabbing, piercing tightness or pain, and/or as persistent tightness, pressure, fullness, or numbness.
This chest tightness may precede, accompany, or follow an escalation of other anxiety sensations and symptoms, or occur by itself.
This chest tightness can precede, accompany, or follow an episode of nervousness, anxiety, fear, and elevated stress, or occur ‘out of the blue’ and for no apparent reason.
This chest tightness can range in intensity from slight, to moderate, to severe. It can also come in waves, where it’s strong one moment and eases off the next.
This chest tightness can change from day to day, and/or from moment to moment.
All of the above combinations and variations are common.
This type of chest tightness is commonly misconstrued as heart problems or the signs of a heart attack.
I hope this helps a little bit. It's exactly how I feel. I'm still going to get a second opinion. I think we all should get more test done just to ease our minds 😊
I read the article and I don't really get it like that, its not my chest its the palpitations I get from the anxiety and I start to have fear and the tingling and numbness comes and I try to calm down it takes me about 10 to 20 minutes to calm down. But my problem is why am I getting anxiety when I never had it ever in my life only when I went cold turkey on the meds I had taken and one med I took quite a bit which was seroquel.
