Feel like my heart isn't beating properly and I'm going to die any minute. I'm sweating and I don't know what's happening. I also feel weak. Does anyone else feel like this? Don't know what to do but it's so scary. I just want to be normal, I mean how do I keep dealing with this?

Just try and calm...with deep breaths....breathe in for five then out for five...mentally image a calm place...it is just the symptoms of a panic attack and the addreiline that is released into your body...making you more aware...heart best...sensitive hearing...sweats...you a perfectly fine believe me it will pass...xx
The quicker you understand its not going to kill you the quicker you will recover. Some people can dismiss them and move on fairly quickly whereas some will let them dominate their lives. It's going to feel uncomfortable dealing with them but it's the only way to stop them winning. They will get better over time and best of luck with your recovery.
I agree with stvnpntr, as hard as it is, the sooner you stop focusing the better you will feel. I had your symptoms too and was scared for weeks. I finally saw a good cardiologist who checked me out and gave me some tests, and a few weeks after the all clear I started to feel much better. I definitely still have some palps but they aren't dominating my life currently. I know it's harder said than done but try! And If you can't then see a doctor like me to rule it out and you will feel better.
Hi Rinaaa....I am sorry to hear you are going through a bad patch ...please read what my take on this is as it should reassure you that even though things feel bad it isn't the something sinister or the end of your world.
Just to clarify...I assume you have been along to have some basic test to check nothing untoward is the cause of your symptoms.
If a Dr has ruled out anything physical then you have to understand that this is Highly likely to be anxiety.First I will give a brief history ....then an explanation ...then a plan of things you might find helpful.
I have been living with anxiety for 30 plus years and in the early stages had those exact symptoms in the mid 80's.Heart missing beats slowing down beating like lead, then suddenly speeding right up as if I just run up three flights of stairs whilst sat still or lying in bed.Heart turning over is another feeling that comes and goes.
Now everyone likes to blame excess adrenaline for this which is partly true but the other main culprit is noradrenaline(norepinephrine) which is the stress hormone.
These two hormones act in tandem one speeds things up the other adds punching power into a muscle. Now it becomes a bit easier to see how things spin out of control when one works against the other which creates a feeling something is wrong.
What to do?..... Learn to understand that this is harmless on a healthy heart , that the heart has tremendous reserves and that moderate excercise banish these feelings until you go back into a resting state.Try going for a brisk walk or even running on the spot and you will see most of the sensations disappear.
If you try moderate daily excercise you will burn of the excess stress hormones and increase your resistance to having these attacks. But here's a thing I found out by accident concerning missed beats.I started eating porridge every morning and I remember that my missed beats got less and less.it was if the natural ingredients
Soaked up the stuff that was creating my unbalance.
There are. 2 books by Dr Claire Weekes who was an Australian psychologist back in the 1980's and she explains all of the above relating to the heart amongst other things but the most important thing I remember reading was that ALL those symptoms were perfectly harmless ... And worrying about them just fuels the very anxiety you are trying to run from...that they disappear with excercise and that anxiety doesn't kill you.Even people with real heart disease can live a further 20 or 30 years with the right treatment.Accept the sensations and just get on with your day, by doing so the attacks actually get less and less.
Finally if the symptoms really do not subside then ask your GP for a low maintenance dose of beta blockers (propranolol) which stem some of these symptoms until you master the art of relaxation and build back your confidence. But don't allow them to put you on a high dose ....40 mg a day is more than enough as and when needed.
Accept the feelings ...allow them free reign and pay them no attention, by doing that you have begun to diffuse the problem, I hope I didn't overload you with nonsense and that somehow you can take some of this as a stepping stone back to a care free worry free existence. peace.
