That's a very diverse question as we are all different. I love to dance, so that helps me. I also have a lovely, calm, teddy bear sized dog, who sits on my knee and lets me cuddle him. But I'm a very girlie, girl, and I'm sure this is unique to me!!

More common short term solution. Deep, slow breathing. I try to 'talk myself down' in my head too. And get home (to my safe place) as soon as I can!!

If I have the time. I just walk with the dog for hours!!. Walking, being with my dog, being in a park or at a beach, away from traffic and crowds and stress, is enormously therapeutic for me!!

Failing all that, a pint in a pub, with a friend or 3!!! But I wouldn't recommend that to everybody!! ;)

How about you?

Oh and when I'm out socially. I smile and tell jokes (a lot) and often chat away ten to the dozen!! People think I'm so confident and outgoing. But often my anxiety is through the roof, and I'm just trying to cover it up.

I'm not sure what you mean but when I feel my heart rate increasing I take a deep breath and hold it for like 3 seconds and then breath out slowly. It always helps me slow down my heart rate.
