Somebody please help me out!!! I was driving and my legs got really hot and then my whole face and lips got numb!
I was so worried it was a stroke!! It only lasted for about 2 minutes. I went to the dr and he told me it was a panic attack! Please tell me this is normal.

Sometimes when we got anxious we start breathing in a wrong way. The body is not well oxygenated and some parts (extremities) get numb... The problem is that when we realise that we get even more anxious...
It happened to me. I did the same. Went to see the doctor and did some tests... Everything was OK.
But see the thing is, I wasn't feeling anxious at the time. My body just all of a sudden got hot , ears got muffled and tongue and lips went numb. Is that normal?
And now it's happened like 3 times again bc I keep thinking about it.
Yes that's normal. If your breathing is off you'll feel numb. It's happened to me before and happens a lot. When I get really hot it happens it's unfortunately normal
Yes, it is... I have generalised anxied disorder. It means, I am always a bit anxious. All the time. Even when I ain't thinking aboit or feeling anxious. The signals are there. Sometimes I can notice then like a higher heart rate or dry mouth.... And I say to myself: God, am I anxious now? Or sometimes these numbness come from nothing....
It's all related to the breathing. And sometimes (or almost always) we are not aware of our breathing.
Try some breathing exercises. Find a quiet place, and try some exercise. There are lots of videos and apps for breathing exercises.
Do some exercise.... If you don't feel like, just a walk should be enough (a running is better though).
Thank y'all so much for the replies! Y'all have made me feel so much better! I barely believed my doctors but now that I hear that y'all go thru the same thing then I feel so much better! I appreciate it so much!
