I have been on Sertaline 200mg for the past year but felt apathetic, and uninterested in any of my previous interests. I also suffer from sleep depravation. My specialist has decided along with consultation with me to try the above as an alternative. Certainly, I do not suffer anxiety at all and the combination of Sertaline combined with 50mg Pregabalin seems to have dealt with all the symptoms of Chronic Depression and Anxiety, but I am left with virtually no feeling of anything at all. Past hobbies and interests no longer attract any attention, and a life long passion listening to music and playing, a guitarist, does not happen.
It may be that these hobbies, photography, cabinetmaking, music , reading which have all been with me for 50+ years may have all suddenly ended their interest span, however, my theory is that because Sertaline is also diagnosed for OCD, then the opposite to Obsessive Compulsion Disorder is apathy and feelings of lack of interest in anything.

I've been on Mirtazapine for 10 years [and am switching to Sertraline very soon, ironically!]
Mostly I've been on 30 mg, and have found it mostly very helpful, especially when I was very severely depressed and couldn't see a way through to understanding. It also has helped me sleep. And take the edge off the anxiety. [I have depression and anxiety plus].
Best of luck, personally, I would stay with what you are on. Sertaline has some pretty unwelcome side effects, apathy, and greatly reduced erectile disfunction.
Hi, yes I have been on sertraline 200mg for a year and like you I feel they have done very little and yes i have the same systems as you, I have just started weaning myself off sertraline ( I'm a bit worried at the moment though as my GP has told me to reduce them every four days and I'm thinking that may be to quick ?? But I did stress I wanted to start the new ones as soon as possible) my GP is starting me on Valafaxine although I dread and hate the starting/ stopping new antidressants I have no choice I had to as I'm not feeling much that better than I did in jaunary ( at my very worst ever ) so yes I know exactly how your feeling. Really hope your feeling better soon and get the write medication you need, let me know how you get on.
