Hello

There is another member on here that has been worrying about the same thing like you & this is very common thing that can happen and I would not say there is any reason to be alarmed unless you started getting some other symptoms

Have you had your eyes tested recently ?

Best thing is to get them tested as they can also see how healthy your eyes are and reassure you nothing is wrong x

I got them tested In April and thats when I got glasses, do you think that is too far away, should I get them tested again?

Hi

Well that was not long ago & I would not think you would need another eye test this quick they say every two years but you could always pop in when you are passing and say I keep seeing these floaters now & again they will reassure you and most are so helpful

Try and be reassured though that when we have our eyes tested an optician is usually better than your Doctor for picking up if anything is wrong & yours were fine :-) x

Thank you :) x

Hi there, you actually want to see an Ophthalmologist not an Optician. An Optician just makes glasses. An Ophthalmologist is a doctor that can prescribe medication and perform surgeries while an Optometrist is your basic eye doctor that can examine you and prescribe glasses, however, if you need further treatment he will send you to an Ophthalmologist. Hope that helps. Best wishes to all xx

Hi, I had this problem about 5yrs ago and had eye floaters nearly every day and it became quite distressing. I was referred to a specialist who diagnosed the condition as IRITIS, I was prescribed cortisone eye drops which partly helped, in the end I was given the choice of a cortisone injection directly into me eye. Sounds horrible I know , but I agreed and saw the specialist who gave me the injection. they injected through my eye lid into my eye. Didn't even feel the needle go in, no pain at all, and the procedure took about 2-3 minutes. It seems the condition is caused by inflammation behind the eyes. I have had no problems since this simple procedure.

Hope this is of help.

This helped, thank you. Do you think I should see an eye doctor then?

Hi Elley, yes see your doctor and explain the symptoms , he may refer you to an eye specialist or prescribe a course of cortisone eye drops. If the symptoms are not too severe , you may find the eye drops do the trick and reduce the inflammation. So give it a try, it is nothing that can't be cured by medication or a simple injection as I had, but my symptoms were quite severe.

I wish you all the best.

Alan.

They are eye floaters, nothing to worry about :) if your vision goes cloudy or darkens then maybe see the optometrist
