I know the feeling...I tried sleeping pills, camomile tea, warm baths before going to bed...nothing worked. My problem is that I worry too much.

Last night, I tried hard to empty my mind and not to think about anything, I stack ear plugs into my years, I lied on one side, I covered my head with a pillow and I finally fell asleep!!! I slept almost nine hours without waking up! It hasn't happened to me in along time.

I think our minds work the same as a computer; sometimes we need to shut down and cool in order to function properly. I still find hard to "shut down", but I keep telling myself that I am in control of my body and of my mind...

Yeah, I have trouble sleeping - I have a skylight but no curtain so the light/birds wake me up early. I've got an eye-mask that I can put on if I wake up too early.

It really doesn't help the way I feel to have such a disrupted sleep pattern though.

I've started having showers at night instead of in the morning to try and relax, and try not to be on the computer just before I go to bed....really succeeding with that one tonight, eh? ;)

I've also stopped drinking tea in the evening or having decaf tea instead.

I've had lot f problems with sleep dptnis year due to menopause, hot sweats etc, but settled down, my anxiety is health focused I suffer with IBS not diagnosed but what Dr thinks, to try and settle it down she prescribed me with Amitripiline 10 ( I only take half 5 mg with use if pill cutter) I read on line start 5 mg so no effects ie dopey the next day, this drug is prescribed in small doses for wait for it..... People who can't sleep, IBS, bladder waterworks problems, pain nerve pain, and as many of you will know in bigger doses for depression and anxiety .... 5 mg of this tablet gives me a fantastic sleep, sound asleep, feel great next day, and my anxiety with this small dose has really settled down also has my. IBS .... I wish I had know about it earlier this year when I was waking up 3/5 times a night.... It may be useful asking your Dr about this, it's been fantastic for me .. Good luck

Hi, I'm in menopause and feel awful hot flashes, couldn't sleep, anxiety and now found out all those problems related to skin lupus. Now I am talking prednisone for lower summer skin rash.

I quit coffee, eat light foods and easy chores at night and find that relaxation from your mind and body will help sleep better even 5 or 6 hours quality sleep still help for the next day.

Good luck
