Can a pelvic/abdominal ultrasound be done while menstruating?? tommorow is my appointment and it started today.

can it affect the ultrasound process?

yes you can. during any ultrasound youll be given a paper towel and stuff to cover you 'private areas' but just make sure you make them aware that you are on your period.

i'd say phone them first before your appointment and just double check :) x

HI Rush x I cannot help you with your problem as I simply do not know the answer, but I would ring in advance and check to be on the safe side, you may find one of the other communities within hu more helpful as this is the anxiety community and mainly help in anxiety, ocd et x Donver x

thanks guys. and yes donver. i do have anxiety but i asked incase any female knew.

I had one done while I dealt with heavy bleeding usually they do the vaginal ultrasound (tmi sorry) with the pelvic ultrasound so they'll skip that and they were able to check just fine.
