I successfully came of Zopiclone after long term use.

No tapering worked at all for me. My GP substituted the zopiclone for phenergan an antihistamine and it worked from day one. I only needed 1 tablet although I could have taken two. I have stopped the Phenergan now and I am sleeping better than I have for a long long time. I also find the my anxiety has gone too.

Yes, I am surprised that it not more widely prescribed for insomnia. It has certainly changed my life.
