I'm kinda getting frustrated, but I felt very lonely today even though i had people around me and Im feeling kinda down and my head feels weird and I ate some panda express which I think upset my stomach, well I just wanted to update I've been really good lately still got my bumps here and there just trying too live and not worry.

thank you so much for the support. I appreciate it!

Morning Damein,

Well done to you for going back to gym. If you feel it is not getting any better go back to your G/P and see what he says about recovery times etc.

We can all feel lonely even in a crowd I reckon.

Keep popping on here read post and answer any ones you can and want to.

Hoping you have a better day today.

I had a pretty good day thank you so much for the reply feels nice knowing I'm not the only one that goes through this.

Hi, I agree with Gardener ask the GP what the recovery times are for your injury. Can the gym not advise you what exercises you can do to avoid using that area? You will get better it's just frustrating when it doesn't get better quick enough.

I love to hear that you trying to live your life even though it has bumps along the way. You are doing a fantastic job, keep going.

Take care x

yeah I'm thinking about going back too my doctor and ask about it, but I don't do regular exercises I do Jiu-jitsu and its grappling it deals with holds and chokes and ground fighting so its kinda hard too train with my shoulder and neck bothering me :/ thank you for believing in me though!

I can understand now why it hurts so much, my son did jiu Jitzu for a few years. Maybe ibroprophan could help in the time being. Go and see the GP, see if that helps, of course I believe in you. The way you talked about living your life with bumps along the way was a brilliant way of putting it. Thanks to you x

Hi damienlee,

Glad to hear from you again and welcome back.

I would imagine you will be frustrated with your injury as I note your hobby is judo?

As for feeling lonely, even though being surrounded by people, I think we all feel like that from time to time. I hope you are feeling a bit happier today.

very close its jiu-jitsu that I do :) but yeah its super frustrating cause its the one thing that I look forward to in the day and and its my dream and passion so its hard for me too not do it cause it keeps me focused and motivated.

Hi

Maybe you went back to the gym to soon ?

It can take a while for injuries like you had to heal but if you really feel it isn't getting any better at all there is no harm in asking them to just check it out again & that way you will have peace of mind :-)

Your stomach could be again due to you getting anxious , always upsets most peoples stomachs , but also if you notice certain foods do seem to trigger your stomach been upset , which I have come to notice which foods do mine then try & avoid them , but still keep you meals up as you are doing really well :-)

I am pleased that while you have not been posting you seem to have been staying positive , you are doing really well & once that therapy starts , which wont be long I am sure you start feeling even better :-)

Glad you said hello , I was wondering how you were doing :-)

Love

Hey why why!!! yeah its just frustrating not training cause its the one thing that drives me too stay positive it teaches me discipline and the ability too stay focus and its my dream too become a black belt and open up my own gym one day I'm currently a blue belt and I've been doing it for 4 years I need 2 more belts then I'm black.

Yes I've been keeping track of things that upset my stomach spicy foods and very oily foods I had some pasta tonight that really made my stomach upset not like throwing up but in a way where it feels like air and it rumbles idk but I've been eating a lot better I just need too get my sleep under control.

can't wait to get my therapy underway it should help I've been doing good lately so I'm happy about that today I didn't really get too do anything, I stayed in bed which I know is really bad but I couldn't go to sleep until 5 am and it was hard to stay awake and be productive :/

Hi

You will get that black belt & your dream , take it easy you will get there :-)

Oh oily & spicy are two foods that set me of & the pasta , I think that's wheat & leaves me feeling bloated !

Its ok to have a day in bed now & again so don't be feeling bad about that

Hope you have a lovely day today :-)

Hi damienlee94

You have my empathy with a sternum injury. I damaged the cartilage / or something along those lines when playing table tennis believe it or not! Admittedly I did play with great enthusiasm (to make up for lack of skill): I did it whilst playing a forehand smash!! Didn't realise I had done anything until I woke the next morning and the chest pain on breathing alone was BAD! Well as I recall it was about a month before I could play again: how long it may take for something a little more strenuous than TT eg judo, well I think you really need a professional opinion from a physiotherapist - probably a sports physio may be the best route.

ANXIETY! That can be a biggie - or not so biggie. Having lived with clinically diagnosed severe anxiety, since 2001, I feel for you. How to live with it is both personal (subjective), and objective (recognised signs and symptoms - with a variety of tried and tested treatment options). As this is perhaps only my 2nd REPLY, to any forum, I should confess to not having read any of your previous posts / comments which means I wish to offer words of insight comfort and hope based on the above last time you 'called in'... "It's been a while. .".

If it helps put anything into perspective, how you present your symptoms to the particular health professional you're with will greatly influence the treatment path(s) suggested to you. WARNING: please, please research any medications that may be offered, where appropriate, so you can make what you consider to be a satisfactory risk / benefit analysis. Some medications, and I currently take 5 different types, can cause side effects and dependency that on reflection could outweigh in the long term the benefit(s). This would be YOUR CALL and with professional guidance you could decide which way to go. Again the path(s) could be plural to include, MEDICATION (to assist with physiological needs) - CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) / Talking Therapy etc.. (to assist with psychological needs) - Hypnotherapy (to assist with coping mechanisms and methods of relaxation). I've done them and now I can manage my anxiety to minimise adverse effects - so I think of it as LIVING WITH ANXIETY. As another member has mentioned the upset stomach symptoms are a real and reliable indicator of being anxious, even if you're not quite sure why? I will take half or a full 2 mg diazepam tablet if required and available on prescription, or drink peppermint cordial (I'm hard core now so drink it neat from the bottle! LOL - it's funny how you can get used to something - about 50 ml should do it with or without water - be careful if you have reflux or GERD as it may cause irritation).

If people tell you it will get better I think they might mean easier: we ALL are affected to a greater or lesser degree of anxiety - we need that emotion to make effective decisions from time to time. It's when its excessive that it becomes an unpleasant state, even leading to panic attacks. But, having had 1 and 2 near misses I am able to assure you that you will come out the other end. If you can accept the condition and rule it rather than the other way 'round you will be able to take each scenario - each day - as it comes and understand it could be your 'Companion' now and then, or like myself and probably many 1000's of others around the world long term. DON'T LET THAT AFFECT YOU NEGATIVELY IN ANY WAY. We all have at least one imperfection!! LOL. I hope you have managed a smile somewhere in all of this and sincerely wish you good mental health.

I did crack a smile thanks you Bruce!!! well Im sorry to hear about the tennis accident it must suck being an athlete its like its all we got and if you take our sport away its kinda like taking something that was apart of us and its hard to deal and cope with it when you can't play or practice, I currently do Jiu-jitsu its grappling like UFC I'm training with very high level brazillan jiu-jitsu fighters, I've been doing it for about 4 years now had to stop a year because of my anxiety I went through depression and lost of self-esteem i got back up on my feet and went back too the gym it was a hard year but I made it, I won a national tournament and a world tournament I am the 2012 blue belt juvenile champion of abu dabi it was really something when I won it , this sport means everything too me its my dream and passion and all I want to do is this and I keep running into bumps and this injury is holding me back from training and I'm very inpatient.. but I'm trying to stay strong, thank you for all the advice it really helped , it means a lot too me thank you very much!
