Heart monitor...

Hello everyone

Well the day is finally here till I go and get my heart monitor fitted for the day. Probably a huge waste of time as my heart palps are so sporadic that sometimes I can go a few days without one then get loads in a small space of time. I'll be honest though I've woke up feeling major panicky...don't know if it's cause I'm worried that this won't pick anything up. Or maybe I'm just worried that I'm due some palps and I don't want them lol..,it's getting to that time again where I get loads. Anyway I'm gibbering on here.

Hey you. Its good your monitor is getting fitted today. It will show you your heart is fine. I know they ain't nice, but try not to worry about the palps this wont help. Let us know how it goes with the monitor.

Go & get it on Ashley , it will pick up even if you dont think it is

I no so many people that have had them on that have said the same & thought they didnt have a palp when they had it on , yet they are so sensitive , they did pick them up, it will yours to , & nothing else as its the anxiety that gives you them , you wait & see

I hope it shows you heart is fine & not your heat as Will says , I didnt no you had problems with heat ????

Hi Ashley, I had one a fee months back. It picked up I had a normal rhythm and I had one eptopic beat throughout. It will def show ur palps. Did u have any warngs before u get them? What time is ur appointment? How long do u have the monitor? Xxx

No never any warning, they just happen really anytime, in bed, walking, sitting. I've got the monitor on now, had it put on at 11 and it's till tomorrow morning xx

That's good u have it. Yeah mine are the same although I seem to be in relation to eating. U have also noticed I am not always anxious when I get them

Either it's when they happen I start lol. I seen my practice nurse today who said my risk of heart disease is 1% and she she's loads if young people with palps but they usually go. Have they given u and event diary to write down what ur doing when any happen? Xx

Hi Ashley, I had one of these a few months ago due to my dizzy spells and abnormal ecg... Well it wasn't the most pleasant of things to wear but my results came back fine other than a short pr rate which is one of those things apparently. So good luck I'm sure your results will be fine

I've a few flutters now and again but nothing too bad which is typical. What's the betting tomorrow after it's off I have a run of bad palps lol xxx

Cant you jog on the spot , get mad or something , that might bring one on

They will pick up what they need though , but yes you might get a thud once they take it of

Start doing some sit ups , get your heart pumping

I have had palpitations for 40 years am now 67, they are bad somedays for no apparent reason, i can sympathise with you because they are distressing, i have learnt to live with them , tests on my heart have been Ok ! I try to think positive but its not easy!
