moderate anxiety had a burst of the severe earlier...

In this second bout of anxiety I HAD been lucky not to have any of the worst symptoms - until today...

I was tangling with the toddler when I moved him quickly and slammed the palm of my hand into a doorframe...I noticed that the big blue vein in my palm was massive and swollen and I thought it was blocked - the next thing I know I'm burning up, my head is spinning and feel sick, thought I was dying and it's just me and the kids - gnats wing away from calling 999...then it all went away because I knew the experience from my first bout of anxiety when that experience I described was a frequent visitor (emergency services must have loved me)...just got to hold on another hour for OH to come back from work - the vein is still swollen with a nice bruise and now the outside corner of my hand seems to be bruising - WHAT THE 'ELL DID I DO? I can still tap a keyboard though :D

still can't help but be concerned about both my hand and having a more severe turn - thought I was beginning to get back on top of this....grrrr

hope others are having a better day :)

Oh Sam

You brought back memories there , the times I went to grab mine & they were so quick , I remember i missed & my hand flung straight in the wall , i thought I had broken it :o

It will just be the impact , I no its easy for me to say , but it will go down

Have you some ice to help with the swelling & Witch Hazel is good for the bruising , it will hurt & might come out more , but it will go back down hun

Well done though , you havnt called 999 & you have come on here & hubby will soon be home :)

Thinking about you

Hi sorry to hear what you did to your hand. And the anxiety you got . I think that what you did frightened you when you saw the vein which is why you got anxiety. It could happen to people without anxiety. My daughter yesterday caught her finger on a knife in the sink. It was just a small nick but she had sweat was shaking and said she felt faint. This went after a few mins. She does not have anxiety.. But does have the nornal level of anxiety and what she did frightened her . Im hoping you understand what i have said :)

Dear Ladysaabra,

I am sorry to read that you went through a bit of a tough or rough or bad time after injuring the palm of your hand.

I wish you a speedy recovery with your hand.

warmest regards,

Marcus

Hi ,don't worry the swelling will go down I did something similar few weeks ago, got angry with the toilet, was refusing to flush so I pushed handle really hard, my hand slipped and banged my wrist really hurt, vein was all swollen but was ok after couple of days :)

Thank you all - always easier to give others perspective :D

It probably doesn't help that, apart from bloated belly and blubbery backside, I'm all skin and bone - my hands are particularly small and bony, even the slightest injury is going to be obvious - and insult to injury - I burnt a finger on my injured hand, the hand has seen better days - wonder what it'll look like tomorrow?
