I get the exact same thing and always have done and to top it all of also feel light headed throughout the day about a week or so prior to it starting. From what I was informed by my GP its due to the fluctuation of hormones that cause this spike in anxiety x

Aw Stacey, mine can be so much worse before and during my period, symptoms highten and sadness n paranoia omg, what I started doing some time ago when I realised this I started making sure I got out more in the fresh air, did increased exercise and also arranged nice things for myself at this time. I also give myself permission to have chocolate ha...I suffer with GAD and normal days can be difficult to cope so during the time of the month it can I know be unbearable, I use to lock myself away from the family for a few days a couple of years ago as I did not want it affecting them and suffered on my own till I felt relatively normal, then decided enough enough and I accepted it and I try to do things to minimise the affects, difficult I know... plus my periods are very slow to start these days, hormones/stress more likely culprits...Theres some really good websites out there that give you all types of advice to alleviate, take care D

The reason is definitely hormones! A good multivitamin can help as the B vitamins are so important for managing stress (plus good nutrition of course!).

Did you have PMS before your anxiety diagnosis? I have both and my anxiety and depression is awful the week before I'm on. It's so much fun being a woman :0

I've been taking a multivitamin for the last couple of months I haven't noticed a difference in my mood but I'll keep at it ~ It's bound to be doing me some good, right???
