Kayohan had built a life, one he had promised himself he would create. After all the pain, after all the battles he had emerged victorious, or so it seemed. His business flourished, and his dreams of bringing light to others came true. He held his promise to Anaya close to his heart: once she held his hand, now he would hold ten hands, guiding them toward the brightness she had shown him. But despite all his success, there was a lingering emptiness. Something always felt missing, a beat that never quite returned.
One night, as exhaustion finally claimed him, Kayohan found himself in a dream that felt too real to be a mere illusion.
He was walking through the forest, where the trees seemed to whisper old stories and the ground felt alive with memories. The rain fell softly but steadily, each drop cool and gentle. A light breeze moved through the rain, carrying a calming tune that eased his restless mind. The air was fresh and cool, filled with the scent of wet earth and wildflowers, making everything feel like a dream.
"Anaya!" Kayohan called out, his voice echoing through the empty forest. His heart ached, each word heavy with longing. The sound of the rain, the whispers of the trees, and the soft rush of wind, everything was muted, except for his desperate plea.
He wandered deeper, calling her name, but the silence around him grew louder, and the ache inside him tightened. He sank to his knees, covering his face with his palms, and let the weight of his sorrow consume him. Tears mixed with the rain on his face, but his heart cried out for the one thing he could not reach “Anaya”.
A strange golden droplet fell from the sky. It landed softly on his hand, glowing in the dim light. His eyes widened in disbelief as he stared at the droplet. It shimmered with a strange, ethereal glow. As it rested on his skin, he saw something that took his breath away. A single lock of black hair, streaked with silver, appeared in the droplet. He heard it then…. her voice!
“I am remembering…”
Her whisper danced through the air like a sweet caress, filling his chest with warmth and a peculiar sensation he couldn’t place. In that moment, the memories of all the time he had spent with Anaya flashed before him…. their laughter, their moments of quiet connection, the love she had given him, and the promise she had left behind. And then, he saw her—Anaya—standing before him in the rain, her sweet smile still bright, but a single tear rolling down her cheek.
In that instant, he realized, this wasn’t just a dream. It was a call. A call to complete their story.
With a gasp, Kayohan woke up, drenched in water, as though the rain from his dream had seeped into the real world. His heart was racing, and a strange sense of urgency filled him. This wasn’t just a dream. He knew it was his story. He had been given a chance to end it “in love” not just with love.
Anaya had left a part of herself with him…. a part he could feel now more than ever. He knew what he had to do. He had to find her. He had to bring her back, to make her stay, because he couldn’t live without her any longer.
Kayohan stood, determined, ready to step into the unknown. He would not let this story end without her. This time, he would fight for their love, for the life they were meant to live together.
And so, the journey continued. Kayohan knew that the path ahead was uncertain, but one thing was clear: he was no longer walking it alone. The call of Anaya’s memory, her love, and her whisper in the rain was all the strength he needed to face whatever awaited.
But as the fog of dreams lifted, one thing was certain, this was only the beginning. He had yet to uncover the truth of their love, the meaning of her final words, and the path to bring her back.
What was truly waiting for him in the world beyond the dream?
Only time would tell...
