urgent help anyone please advise

I have been taking 30 mg mirtazapine for five years, 50 mg sertraline for a month, 10 mg Amlodipine and 20 mg propranolol. I got a prescription for 20 mg omeprazole twice daily. I am concerned because mirtazapine, sertraline and omeprazole cause QT prolongation and put me at risk of torsades de pointes and other life-threatening arrhythmias. Anyone taking the same combination please advise. I'm battling with health anxiety and GAD.

Hi you should ask the Doc about mixing these medications as you are worried.

Hi, I asked the doctor and he said there was no problem taking the meds but on the information sheet accompanying Sertraline it says it should not be taken with omeprazole

I was trying to come off mirtazapine to go on sertraline but needed a 2 week window as my doctor didn't want me overlapping on these medications but no experience with Omeprazole.

Hi, you might not get any replies from people on exactly the same combination, but I'm on a somewhat similar combo, so I thought I'd share my experience. I've been on mirtazapine and aripiprazole (taken at bedtime) for about 6 years. I've been on 5 mg amlodipine for a couple of years, and venlafaxine was added to the mix a few months ago. The worst I can say is that the mirtazapine was making me very drowsy throughout at least the following morning, hence the addition of venlafaxine. The amlodipine isn't doing much for my high blood pressure, so I'm considering asking for an increase to 10mg. Aside from the high BP, I haven't experienced any heart problems. I don't know if any of that helps you, but I wish you the best.

So glad to hear that!

I take mirtazapine for anxiety and omeprazole for acid reflux. i haven't had any problems with them apart from mirtazapine and putting on weight. also make sure u take omeprazole separate from any other meds as omeprazole can stop meds from working. i think its 2 hours before and after omeprazole not take meds.

I also take sertraline 100mg Mirtazapine 15mg and Lansoprazole 15mg

I take Sertraline and Lansoprazole at the same time every day and then take the Mirtazapine in the evening about an hour before bed.

I have not had any problems or issues with them.

(Lansoprazole is a similar drug to Omeprazole)

Thank you very much. I see our combination is almost similar

Yeah very similar, I have other medication that I take for my other ailments. I think the key is to follow the instructions on the packaging and remember that your doctor is not likely to prescribe medication that is likely to cause you any harm.
