Advice on Mirtazapine please

Hello.

I was wondering if anyone could advise.

I have been taking Mirtazapine at 15mg for one month.

My doctor increased my dosage to 2x-15mg (30mg). I have been taking 30mg for 13 nights.

Today.

I have now been told to drop back to 15mg as it was far too much for me to handle 30mg.

My question is will I be okay dropping back down to 15mg after taking 30mg for 13 nights.

Should I cut one of the 15mg in half so I drop to 22.5mg and then 15 mg so it’s a slow drop?

Or will I be okay to drop straight from 30 to 15.

Please no horror stories that I’ve read on here.

Thank you.

hi given the short period of time you should be ok with the 15mg but obviously contact the Doc if symptoms arise.

agree. I’ve come off 30mgs cold turkey. Of course our bodies react different….but generally you should be ok. As Kenster says, it has been a relatively short period. Best wishes. I am back on it now too….wish the food cravings didn’t exist!

Thanks.

I hit an ultimate insane experience on it. Too overwhelming and made me angry, frustrated along with other symptoms going up to 30mg after 13 nights. But thanks.

I was on 45mg for years started halving them then quartering them 2 weeks cold turkey to start new meds ended up back on mirtazapine halving 30mg not much difference 15-30-45mg.

Take the slow approach. Better safe than sorry.
