Exercise & Happiness vs Depression

I recently started an exercise routine on my exercise bike and I have to share that it’s working. My depression, and anxiety, is lessening.

It is working as well as my meds which I am still taking. However I feel better after exercise and before I even take the medication (Sertraline 50mg).

Please try exercise, even if it’s just a short walk of 10 to 15 minutes. It is really helpful and worth it.

Good luck with motivation and small steps, which also helps with fatigue.

Cheetahone, you are so right in how exercise helps immensely. It makes us feel

alive inside as well as mentally calm. Keep it up my friend :) xx

Hi Agora1,

I am very happy you find exercise makes you feel “alive inside”. That’s a great way to describe it, especially when compared to the deadening feeling of depression.

Keep up the amazing wins with your workouts.

Hi Irisheyes1963~Donna,

I’m glad you’re encouraged by my post, and you're welcome.

It’s like being a different person after exercising compared to being someone with anxiety and depression.

I hope you keep working out 🏋️ lol on the emoji.

Cheetahone Im so glad that works for you. I am looking for exercises to do with my MS. Legs not an option.Finding a balance is key in each situation. I never know how the next day an exercise will put what out...ty for putting it out there.

Hi jakiesj,

Glad you liked my post.

I don’t know what limitations MS causes. Perhaps you could try exercise bands or small weights for an upper body workout. You can work up a sweat with those or just do it lightly. Small amounts of exercise can help.

Though I don’t know how expensive they are but I have seen pedal exercise equipment for the arms.

Hope you find something that makes you happy and wishing you the best.🙆‍♂️
