I don’t know why I thought maybe my test would be negative but it was positive. I’m very upset. It’s only been two days since my positive test but I’ve been sick for about 4 days. I really wanted my test to be negative to give me some peace of mind. I feel like since it’s positive it has the potential to get worse. I was feeling better. I’m anxious because I don’t want my boyfriend to get sick. I also just don’t even know what the guidelines are anymore. Online it says as long as you are fever free and your symptoms have improved you can resume normal life. I just feel so sad and anxious I wanted it to be negative. I want this nightmare to be over I was so hopeful

awwww Daisy, sorry to hear that it was positive. Most viruses last at least a week. But I think I read that once you’re symptom free you are not contagious. Believe me, I understand your anxiety. When my husband flew home from the east coast he just thought he was run down but it was Covid and I got it within 2 days. I was so worried, I never had Covid until last Christmas. I was anxious because I have high blood pressure and I was 62. The anxiety is probably why he got better faster, he’s not anxious about sickness. I will keep you and your boyfriend in prayer. 🙏🏻
As long as you test positive, you are contagious regardless of how you feel. That's the best way to monitor if you could infect someone around you.
Positive test results=contagious infection.
I don't have any official medical knowledge, but I believe that positive tests continue for a while, even after you feel better. Just based on how colds and flu goes, I would think the positive test may last for about a week.
The really good sign, though is that you are feeling improved and have a very mild case. I would continue to get extra rest and sleep and I think you will be fine. I would have the same anxiety as you --it must be so nice not to be anxious about these things. x
Hi not sure where you are but here in UK they say we can go out and about.work.school etc....as long as you don't feel so rough that you are in bed.i was positive for 13 days when I had it last year.stayed at home first 5 days.plenty fluids and paracetamol every 4 hours.there are so many different strains of covid like different strains of common colds.do what your body tells you.if you want to sleep then do so.not sure if you work. If you do and get paid sickness money.then all well and good.but here lots people don't get paid sick leave hope you soon better 👍
You're feeling better and will continue to feel better as long as you keep rested. Don't think about the test, think about how you feel. I had it last year, and was worried, but got over it after lots of rest and taking care of myself. A week after I was still testing positive, but just decided to focus on how I felt, and I never tested again after that. Keep telling yourself you're okay and are getting more and more healthy each day.
We were positive for over a week. Don't waste tests if they're expensive cuz your immune system response is going to take at least 7-10 days to clear the virus.
As long as you're not having severe symptoms, rest and relax. It's an unplanned vacation 🤣
Unfortunately I’m a teacher and this was my break! I had to cancel plans last time I had Covid I tested negative after four or five days. I’m hoping it’s the same this time
The test measures the antigens that your immune system has produced to fight the virus. So there’s a delayed response at both ends— at the back end there will be some amount of time where the virus has been killed but the antigens haven’t yet been stood down.
Onwards and upwards; you’re doing fine.
