Hey guys I am having a setback (MAJOR) I lost my job I’m still going to school, I won’t be back until January though since Christmas break/holidays are right around the corner. So we get a two full weeks off and away from school! I am feeling relieved at this point because I know that I really need this break! It’s crazy how things can change so quickly so rapidly! Just when I thought everything was going good!! I hate that feeling I get in the pit of my stomach, that feeling of nothing will ever be the same, that feeling of loneliness and hopelessness. We are not in charge of how life plays out and have no control of the ups and downs! Things happen for a reason. I am just sooo stressed at this moment I don’t know what to do. I really needed that job but my son got sick and I have to take care of him, it doesn’t help much that our job doesn’t allow us to miss but so many days well I just hit that limit today. 3 days is all you get, I don’t know maybe this is for the best. But really sometimes it all goes back to the same thing I’m always thinking, that this life is soooo unfair for some of us. You try to be honest and and open up to your supervisor about certain things and it backfires on you. 😡😡😡😡 Not even asking for help or basically begging to keep your job and explaining your situation helps!! I just cant win in this life and can’t catch a break! 😡😡😡 Sorry so many emotions right now I’m sounding like an emotional roller coaster, but I feel this is healthier, venting and letting it all out in hopes someone will listen. As of the whole job situation I am out as of now with my son applying where I can! Sucks to lose your job right before the holidays!

Raiinbow08, I am listening. You are never alone. I'm sorry you lost your job but I am glad that you came to the forum to vent. Sharing both the good and the bad times in our lives is what this forum is all about. We all care equally for each other and understand how difficult life can be at times

In the next 2 weeks off school, try concentrating on the positive things in your life. You did what you had to do in taking care of your son. We have no control over decisions made by others, we can only control how we accept what life hands us. I have always believed that things happen for a reason. You should never give up in what might be waiting for you.. You have your health, you have your schooling, you have your son, you have a warm home with a roof over your head, life is good. Somehow, things will work out. It may be tight for a while but eventually everything goes in a circle and comes back to the beginning. Nobody ever said that life was fair.

I've always kept this thought in my mind when things get tough in life.

"As you wander through life, whatever be your goal,

Keep your eye upon the donut, and not upon the hole" xx

Jejeje i really like the saying thanks so much for that!! And yes I will try to focus on Christmas and just being able to be with my family! At least I was able to buy my kids all their Christmas gifts, and that makes me happy. Your right I do have a roof over my head, a family that cares for me, and a warm bed to sleep at night. I will focus on what will come in the future and not What has already been done. Thank you for that really! 😊😊😊

Losing a job due to taking care of family is the opposite of what the politicians blowhard about with "family values." I cannot give you advice, but I think ( if you are not in a union) I would talk with human resources , write letters, and possibly talk to the labor department in your state. Lots of people take time off to take care of a sick relative- that is part of life. I cannot tell you what to do, but I think I would also talk to your state and local reps about this as well. Change comes from the grass roots although it seems that it is heading off the rails the opposite way. Perhaps you could also start a petition? I am assuming you are in the US? In the mean time, good luck with your education. What are you studying? In the mean time, sorry you are going through this. Some of life is out of our control, and some is. May you find a better job with benefits and sick time that are fairer to you.
