so the other day I was listening to a podcast relating to anxiety and the dr or psychiatrist was talking about how it is possible to heal anxiety without medication. I am needing honest and truthful answers. Is it really possible to get rid of the anxiety without medication? I don’t want to depend on medication for the rest of my life. Just be honest, please.

Hi, I think that’s a really difficult question as there are no definitive answers because we are all unique due to our genetic makeup. I think for some it is possible to get off their medications but in doing so if that greatly reduces their quality of life why do it?

I’m not a lover of medications but if they’re a necessity to help protect us from a possible life threatening health condition then I do take them. I managed to cure myself from severe panic attacks without meds 🤞 and continue to deal with my A/D without meds. Maybe I’m wrong but I’ve been on so many different meds long term for physical conditions and I believe they have affected my brain long term. (Diamorphine being the worst)

So really it’s a personal choice only you can make as to how you feel on them or off them. Good luck as it’s so hard.

I wouldn't like to say if you can or not but I wouldn't want you to relapse and have to go on some even stronger medication, my advice is talk to your doctor first before doing anything that may arm you in the future.

The answer is really simple and complicated at the same time.

The simple part: it depends on what's causing it. If it's a genetic biochemical disorder, then medication may be required for life. If it's not, then it is possible to overcome it without medication.

The complicated part: figuring out which it is.

Getting rid of anxiety without medication is possible but some need it to help them feel better. Whether you take medication or not, you should try other things that can help you feel better like exercise, meditation, journaling, get good sleep, etc. Some things work and some things don't, its different from person to person.
