I have been very concerned about the atrocities raging now in the Middle East, and i do watch the news because to me it is important to try to understand all this anguish and bloodshed, even though it causes my depression to rise, and i do worry about all those innocent lives that have been lost, i can't change it but i do pray for them and i don't take sides because I am just a bystander looking in. Most people just want a quiet life with no conflict, and yet there are people intent on destroying our very existence and i fear that should Iran and Russia joins in it will be the start of WW3, and it does send shivers down my spine and fills me with untold dread. This is not just idle thoughts it is a realization of what could happen. My American friend Karen is actually already stockpiling dry foodstuffs and she is far from being a doom monger because she thinks the threat of war is not without substance. I don't know what it is about the human condition which makes us destroyers.? Jealousy and greed?
There are trees in the world that are more than 5 thousand years old, if only they could talk and see because they would have seen vast changes through the centuries, dynasties toppled, the fall of many empires and countless unnecessary wars, but these majestic trees still stand proud and stood the ravages of time. We must respect these amazing forms of nature at all costs.
We don't come near to their lifespan, but in our short lives we have created havoc to this blessed Earth, but Man never learns, we still ruin everything about us, which beggars the question......are We superior beings. We most certainly are not.

I just want peaceful world and politics to face exctinction crisis more . Save the rhino and sea creatures and woodpecker and pink pigeon and insects as well as trees
Hopeful more people getting serious on these subjects. More nature programmes and tourism for nature!
I would like more research on health and helping people with problems. Money worth investing in
Yes I agree. I think your use of the word man isn't a generic term as its always men who start wars or become power mad dictators. Can't think of any woman who has?
Limiting ourselves to the twentieth century we find at least three, Golda Meier, who lost the October War of 1973 and then her job as Israeli Prime Minister a year later; Indira Gandhi, who first went to war with Pakistan in 1971 and finally Margaret Thatcher, launching the war over the Falklands in 1982.
Yes I agree but I wasn't talking about Prime Ministers acting on behalf of a government. Sorry if I didn't make it clear.
I was thinking of absolute rulers going back as far as Ghengis Khan, Ivan the Terrible etc. all the way up to Pol Pot, The Kims of North Korea, Stalin, Idi Armin, Hitler, Putin. Every one of those has been male.
I have a son serving in the US Navy who is currently stationed in the Middle East. They are there for the purpose of providing added protection to Israel throughout the current conflict. This may not amount to him being in direct danger but he’s close enough to keep me up some nights imagining worst case scenarios.
I watch the coverage continuously. It’s ridiculous and scary the mentality that continues to drive these wars….and it doesn’t appear the parties have learned from past destructions and bloodshed. Jealousy, greed, or perhaps they’ve forgotten what they’re even fighting for. These conflicts are old, never ending, and senseless, steeped in old traditions and mentalities that shouldn’t be reverent to today’s society’s. I hope that someday more intelligent minds will prevail.
I appreciated reading your thoughts on this subject. x
Thinking of you and your son at this difficult time. And unfortunately, nothing has been learned from past conflicts, as you say it is senseless and devoid of all sensibilities.x
I feel you. I stopped watching news because of how much it triggered my anxiety. Even random news trigger me, which is so sad. I tell my family and friends not to inform me when there is a bad news. I cannot deal with it any more.
Yes I'm on the same hymn sheet here, religion and politics are normally a factor in wars, and of course the oil or other valuable hidden resources a country may hold, I'd put it down to power mad individuals and the way the rankings in opposition are,the structure of many countries varies, I look at the uk and its a similar set up on how a beehive functions. War brings numerous advancements in weapons, and sadly this is now becoming like a computer game where people are killed at the touch of a remote control device, it's a cull of thousands of individuals, misplacement of millions of people around the globe, bringing poverty and other health issues, those with the power have no physical attachments to individuals killed on a daily basis, canon fodder is a word that is used to easily by those who are " sent " to war, and unfortunately this will continue while individuals are rounded up and fight for the " cause" .
I'm strongly against any type of wars, it's pointless, and trying to change history is an extremely difficult task, nothing is ever learned, and yet here war are bordering on a war that could bring a war to end all wars, heaven help us if nuclear weapons are ever used, each major superpower will be flexing thier armaments in a show of display and stopping those who control the press of the nuclear button is even more frightening 🫣
Israelis have always just wanted peace. The other side is a religion of bloodshed and conquest. Read THE MOHAMMED CODE, THE LUCIFER PRINCIPLE, go to thereligionofpeace.com Don't believe the Marxist-inspired Left-Woke media. Read BEYOND WOKE by former-Marzist professor, read Robert Wistrich's books on hatred and scapegoating of the Jews. Jews never "stole" anyone's land. Read THE PALESTINiAN DELUSION. Jihadwatch.org
Well and my humble opinion, I believe that God created man in the image of Himself and as the good book says He was very pleased. Man was created in God's image and was Superior above all else, the animals, the birds, the trees, everything. What makes us different from every other creature on earth is that we have the ability to reason or not to which makes us very complex. Especially when people do not have good intentions and act out upon them out of revenge, hate or whatever else fuels their fire one of which can be religious beliefs or lack thereof. The Middle East is fighting over Holy Land right now where Jesus walked. What's happening to our world right now is either man-made or God made it's not up to me to decide. I've have heard a lot of chatter of late that man can actually control the weather in some ways be it by those wind contraptions that are under the sea that cause constant surges that make noises that drive wildlife especially sea creatures so insane that they beach themselves to try to get away from it. Sad state of affairs if you ask me to be honest. What I do believe is that the Lord above is not happy with what's happening here on Earth and the day of reckoning is coming it's just a matter of when now. Will it be in my lifetime I'm not really sure but I wouldn't necessarily doubt it either. Judgment Day could come tomorrow for all we know what we need to decide is are we ready or not? I'm not trying to get too overly religious or preaching religion in any way here it's just my opinion. Sorry for the long post I guess I got on my soapbox LOL
