I have been very concerned about the atrocities raging now in the Middle East, and i do watch the news because to me it is important to try to understand all this anguish and bloodshed, even though it causes my depression to rise, and i do worry about all those innocent lives that have been lost, i can't change it but i do pray for them and i don't take sides because I am just a bystander looking in. Most people just want a quiet life with no conflict, and yet there are people intent on destroying our very existence and i fear that should Iran and Russia joins in it will be the start of WW3, and it does send shivers down my spine and fills me with untold dread. This is not just idle thoughts it is a realization of what could happen. My American friend Karen is actually already stockpiling dry foodstuffs and she is far from being a doom monger because she thinks the threat of war is not without substance. I don't know what it is about the human condition which makes us destroyers.? Jealousy and greed?
There are trees in the world that are more than 5 thousand years old, if only they could talk and see because they would have seen vast changes through the centuries, dynasties toppled, the fall of many empires and countless unnecessary wars, but these majestic trees still stand proud and stood the ravages of time. We must respect these amazing forms of nature at all costs.
We don't come near to their lifespan, but in our short lives we have created havoc to this blessed Earth, but Man never learns, we still ruin everything about us, which beggars the question......are We superior beings. We most certainly are not.
