my daughter suffers from anxiety. She used to put a heating pad on her stomach. She said that would help her relax. Also maybe drink some hot tea?

Fennel, ginger, and yogurt come to mind.

You can make a tea from fennel seeds, or just chew a few with a bit of sugar.

Thinly sliced fresh ginger root makes a nice tea also.

Yogurt with live active cultures is helpful too, but won't help immediately, more over time.

I would suggest the first thing would be to try to find out why it is acting up. Your Doctor is the first on the list to try.
