Stomach and body inflammation from anxiety

Hi guys!

I’ve got a bunch of tummy issues due to my anxiety. I’ve been under a lot of stress so my IBS has floated BIG TIME. My whole body is bloated and I’ve been in horrible stomach pain with bloating, nausea, horrific reflux, gas, whole body puffiness. I’ve had gastritis before a while back. I don’t quite remember exactly what I did. This is the worst it’s been in quite some time. I can’t eat much of anything without having ridiculous nausea and major bloat. I was wondering if any of you guys have had this problem from your anxiety and have any suggestions for remedies or supplements that can alleviate this? I feel so uncomfortable with myself..not to mention I’m in pain physically now as well as emotionally 😩

I have. It helps some but doesn’t come near alleviating everything

Ugh! I have some of the same problems and know that they are not fun. I'm sorry you are having to deal with them. I have used Meclizine for nausea and found it very effective. It is available OTC but I ask my Dr. for prescriptions (which are exactly the same) because my brain thinks that only scrips are 'real' medicine. Not my regular, normal, happy brain; that thought comes from my crazed, lunatic, lizard brain that is trying to kill me. Stupid brain. Anyway, Meclizine is with the sea sickness medicines in drug stores. I've also used CBD which knocked the nausea back to a point where I don't even really think about it anymore. I hope you find something that works for you, you deserve relief from these miserable symptoms! Good luck. xoxo DD

Feel the same way as we speak ugh! Just drinking lots of cold water and like you, I can't get too much food down. Eat a few apple bites here and there or steamed rice. Lots of water. It will start to ease your stomach. I'm going to start taking walks out. It was suggested to me I exercise so that may be another helpful alternative to keep from thinking or feeling anxious.

I have also suffered from IBS for many years with a lot of questions about food allergies. Last year I had a big flare up again and started to loose weight because so many foods made me feel so horrible it was better to not eat. I went back to doctor and it was questioned if I have Crohn's Disease. Because I couldn't afford to have a colonoscopy done at the time it was suggested I go to an nutritionist. I happen to go back to one I have been to in the past and she put me on a new product and it has been a blessing. It is called VSL #3 and it is a probiotic medical food. I started taking the packets and eventually transitioned to the capsules. It is very expensive and you can't get it as a prescription at this time. The capsules are also expensive but not as bad as the powder packets. Plus the capsules are easier to get down. Since I went on this in August not only have my symptoms gone away but I can eat certain foods for the first time in like 30 years. I can still have a bad day but can pinpoint what exactly I ate that triggered the food. Now that I have let my gut heal I am kind of following a FODMOP plan which is watching the carbohydrates and sugars (natural sugars) in my diet. Little by little I have been able to add new foods back into my diet. The biggest one that I love is yogurt and cheese. I haven't had those things in 30 years. Gluten is still out and will probably always have to be out but I am okay with that.

I Aldo suffer from the same symptoms. ( pelvic cramping, bloating, but in get constipation) I am not taking any pills right now for it, but I've changed my diet, I would recommend to stay away from carbs, flour, sugar and caffeine. When I feel like eating carbs I will try a healthier option or just buy some gluten free. I started going to a nutritionist and incorporated lots of green.( salads, smoothies, etc) the best way to fight IBS is to stay calm, I know it's hard because I have not mastered myself. Wish you the best on this journey

I have IBS and I get bloated all the time. even if I’m not eating, I’ll be bloated. I usually get it either when I’m walking or taking a shower. I have no idea why and I get concerned as well. I mentioned it to my doctor but he just says it due to anxiety. I’m like ugh no. I had two colonoscopies done and they both were fine. I hope you find the care that you need. Right now I’m battling these tingling and numbness I get all over my body. More my left leg than anything and left arm. Ugh.
