Makes it hard to breathe too ( but maybe it’s because I’m stressing about it )
It could be acid reflux. I get really bad acid reflux when anxious and stressed. Stomach aches, burping, and sick taste sound like acid reflux.
I have the same issue. Stomach feels so heavy 😣
The minute I become anxious, my stomach bloats incredibly and I feel like I need to use the restroom ASAP. There's an explanation for this. When you become anxious, your body is assuming you are under threat and sends the blood to the vital organs that keep you alive. The brain, the heart, and the lungs...so you're ready to fight or flight. Digestion basically takes a break. When all is well, the parasympathetic system (in lieu of the sympathetic nervous system), goes back to "rest and digest". Stress can cause acid reflux and IBS. I'm not a doctor, but I have anxiety, asthma, and acid reflux (under control these days) and it does sound very much related. You might also find it difficult to swallow (globus sensation...like you have a lump in the back of your throat) when stressed, anxious, and so on. Always get medical attention or a check up to rule out anything else, but it sounds like these things are relative to one another. When I had acid relux flare ups, they would last days where I could eat the most bland food in the world and still bloat up. I also had to force myself to eat. The breathing feeling could be due to acid making its way up your esophagus and the pressure being placed on your diaphragm from bloating. I would, at the minimum, make sure you don't have an ulcer and see if they can prescribe or give you a thumbs up for an over the counter medication such as Nexium (Proton-Pump Inhibitor that will turn off some of the areas releasing acid into your stomach). Best of luck and hope this helped
Thankyou so much ! This helps a lot
It’s the third day now my stomach doesn’t feel 100%
No problem at all Been there and dealt with that. Acid reflux can be such a pain. Toss in anxiety, stress, and anything else...it's more annoying. I saw a gastroenterologist and had a colonoscopy and endoscopy for my reflux. Nothing found other than some very minor things. He suggested at the time using Metamucil or some other fiber supplement (careful on that, it can cause constipation for some), probiotics to build up better gut flora (this actually worked), and the acid reflux diet. It doesn't necessarily make everything great, but I think if you are having reflux, the Nexium type med plus one or more of the above should help reduce any of the discomfort. I would follow up with your GP just to rule out anything else for peace of mind. Candida (yeast infection of the throat), ulcers, Celiac disease, hiatal hernia and all the other "fun" digestive issues. That all said, everything you mention sounds spot on acid reflux. Other suggestions: avoid eating close to bed time if possible, blocks under the top of your bed (even a slight incline), or sleeping on a wedge pillow can help keep the acid where it belongs. Hope you're feeling better!
