I’ve been suffering with anxiety/panic disorder for 17 years. I’ve been on Cymbalta to treat it for 17 years. A few months ago, our family suffered a tragedy when my 19-year old nephew was killed in a work accident. Around the same time, I started a new job. I was handling the grief and change okay but the last weeks I’ve had panic attacks and my anxiety is through the roof. My dr prescribed buspirone and that made the panic attacks worse. I stopped that and the panic attacks haven’t been as often but the anxiety is still terrible. Sometimes my adrenaline is off the charts and I can’t control it. My dr prescribed propranolol to help lower heart rate and that seems to be helping some. Another suggestion he had is a newer drug called Loreev XR. Does anyone have experience with this? I’m wondering if I need to change my anti-depressant. I’ve been on Cymbalta for 17 years. Any suggestions or experiences are appreciated.

Hello and Welcome. I am on Prozac. It took additional treatments that were expensive and not covered by insurance to help reduce my anticipatory anxiety. I use an Alpha Stim, a medical device that clips to your earlobes and sends a signal to your brain. I use it for one hour a day. I also did some LENS neurofeedback. I still have anxiety when triggered, but I am very stable day to day. It is much easier for me to go out now. I am glad you have joined us. There is so much support available here.
Welcome to the forum. Sorry you been going through this.
Can't say I have had that experience with those drugs.
But if I may offer some advice on books I think that will help lessen your anxiety and get better control. Dare by Barry McDonagh and Hope and Help for Your Nerves by Dr Claire Weekes. Also with the Dare there are YouTube videos you can watch of his if you prefer that format.
My condolences on your cousin passing.
Wishing you healing and peace 🫂❤️
I have to take ativan for severe anxiety. It is the only thing that helps.
