Looking to Connect

Hello, I am new here and I wanted to find a sense of community. I have MDD that always comes at the worst time. I feel like I always fall off into it when things in life should be getting better. I get through some hard times and when I feel like should be over the hump I can’t find my footing to keep pushing myself. I’ve been in and out of therapy and no one in my immediate life understands it which feels a bit isolating. It feels like I’m lying down outside during a thunderstorm.

Hi there and welcome to the community. I suffer with MDD also and have been since 2006. I have been on several medications which all stopped working for me at one point or another. Not sure if I have treatment resistant depression or not. I am currently on Prozac 20 mg. with Abilify 10 mg. as a booster. I hope that you make many connections here at Health Unlocked. There is also another forum that I belong to here as well. I am a member of both the Major Depressive Disorder community and the Anxiety and Depression forum as well. You can go back and forth between both forums when you are here if you wish. I do that to find the people that I connect to the most. Wishing you peace and well-being in your journey.

hi Purple ostrich 19. I completely understand where you are coming from. Lying down outside in n a thunderstorm really struck a chord with me. At the moment I can’t offer things that have worked because I am struggling myself but I just wanted to let you know that you are not alone.

Hi PurpleOstrich19. Just checking in on you. How are you feeling lately? I used to journal in the tough times and the good ones. I did it everyday. Try it if you don't do it already. Also practice positive help talk to yourself. Write it in your journal. Try I am enough first then I am God's child (if you're religious) I am fearfully and wonderfully made, I am smart, And so on.
