I recently went to a work related party, which I never do, because my boss is always trying to get me to go to events and since it was a circus themed event, I figured I would dress up like I feel. So I let my inner sad clown out for the night.
I figured it would make my boss happy without having to talk and socialize with people too much and just go with the flow.
Turns out it wasn't too bad, people loved my costume and I managed to enjoy myself a little.
So I wanted to tell you guys that even though you may feel out of place or uncomfortable getting out there, if you don't take yourself too seriously and just show up, you may be surprised to learn that you can do it!
Also, I've been thinking about how much emotional weight we quietly carry on our shoulders every day and that it really makes life a little easier when we can manage to let the small stuff go and just focus on the big stuff, like our health and well-being.
If something you're dealing with is not going to matter in the long run, just leave it aside. Don't let little things get to you because it's not worth holding on to things we can't change or things that don't serve our health and peace of mind.
Embrace your imperfections and accept yourself and things around you as they are right now because nothing and no one is perfect.
I wish you all peace in your hearts and minds.
