Getting Results from MRI

Hi everyone. I was wondering if any of you have had this problem . I had a MRI done on March 29th of this year and still have not received the results. I have called twice and my pcp has called twice only to be told the results are pending. This means it hasn't been read yet. The faculty reason given is they are short of staff due to the effects of Covid. They claim they are working on the problem but this sure doesn't help with my anxiety issues. This is not right and I feel will come back and bite them. This is not safe. I have voiced how I feel about the situation to several management personnel without any success. Just give us your money. Disgusting.

Hi 👋 Bedbug,I can sure feel the frustration with this situation, especially as results can be sent electronically these days.

I am not familiar with the workings of the US health system but a month for results seems too long.

In the past, I have used a bit of psychology, the threat of going to the press to break down a few doors.

Keep managing up.

I presume senior management people all over don't want to be embarrassed by being on the front page of the paper or on the TV.

The trick is to give them a 7 day deadline and if nothing happens follow through with your intention.

P.S. in Australia we have a patient's association to act for us.

You are right. A month is way too long to get back MRI results. You may have some ways to put pressure on the company, but I would also suggest that you tell your doctor about this and either get your doctor to find a new radiology lab or get a new doctor.

MRI results should not take that long at all. I've had several and usually had results within a week. Having to wait a month is unconscionable!! Their excuse of short staff due to Covid effects is a poor one as is the management's ability to handle your complaint. I would report it to the highest person in administration. Is it a hospital or free standing clinic? Report to whoever owns where you had it done.

Corewell Health. It is not just this site, its all Corewell Health facilities. Not getting anywhere with their management. Thinking about going to my congressman and state representative. I wonder if any other health facilities are having this problem.

I would definitely contact your congressman and state rep. Your health could be at stake without these results. I looked up Corewell and see it's in MI. I'm in PA and as far as I know no facilities here are having that problem. It doesn't take long to read an MRI.
