Cant get out of this pit

Anxiety attacks for five months. Tried everything, prozac, pristiq, CBS, 5 htp,nothing works...horribly sad and discouraged. How do I go on any longer?

Hi and welcome to your forum. We are part of a supportive community that cares and supports each other.

I can assure you that you are not the only person to have these feelings.

For some people there is no quick or easy recovery. The reason is that our chemistry and history, even our environments are all different.

In general, an adequate trial of medication is 4-6 weeks at the highest tolerable dose before switching.

There are quite a few self care books and internet sites that are helpful. From your reading, you

can pick and choose options that you appeal to you.

If you are wanting extra help, ask your doctor for a referral to a psychologist who specialises in your type of anxiety and for a medication review, to a psychiatrist.

These mental health professionals might still take some time to come up with a personalised treatment plan for you.

Take all the time you need and remember that we are here for you 24/7.
