Hi there, just joined this support group. I have been feeling high levels of anxiety recently. I am a third-grade teacher in Texas, so I have the end-of-year STAAR test I have been prepping my students for. On top of that, I have started my graduate program and chose the flex path, so I am taking two courses every seven weeks. I am also getting married in May, so I have that to add to my plate.

I have had a few panic attacks in the last few months. Looking for any tips on how to calm my panic attacks when they happen. Thank you:)

Yes, you do have a lot on your plate including the wedding x

You can get some relief by doing breathing exercises (YouTube) before

the anxiety comes on. Practicing this daily will build your stamina in

reducing or even ridding yourself when anxiety rolls around. We're here

to see you through this stressful time. :) xx

Welcome to the community.

You certainly have quite a bit going on right now. Your plate is overflowing.

I hope you are able to squeeze in some self care. Taking a walk, sitting in silence, getting your hair done.... Please be sure to take time to recharge those batteries.

Hey, I would recommend that you make sure you have time for yourself. This can be something simple, like having a chance to read a book, walking for a bit, etc. As well, time spend on mediating, breathing exercise or for some that are religious praying, can be helpful to getting a chance to regroup. This is all individual preference. For example, I could not get into mediation but doing breathing exercise helped, or I tried reading but could not get into it so I created a playlist of my favorite songs to listen to them by myself. Know that its okay to say I need a moment to myself. If you don't check in, your anxiety and stress can build up. I ended up going to the doctor with insomnia, chest pain, headache, loss of appetite and feeling like I can't breathe because of my high stress levels. Physically I was fine and all tested showed that I was in a normal range. Mentally I was struggling so I had to create healthy and safe ways to cope and deal with my anxiety and stress.
