Hello all. I'm just wondering how many of you have experienced similar symptoms to me and whether I can put it down to the lofepramine as I'm getting no answers from my GP. I was experiencing palpitations beforehand but since starting lofepramine about 4 weeks ago symptoms have worsened. I have movement induced heart racing, palpitations, high blood pressure, headaches, unexplained weight loss, heat intolerance, fainting spells, pins and needles at random times.

However two 5 min ECG s picked up nothing (but I was led down) and all my bloods have been fine. So I'm left thinking it must be these tablets....any experience welcome x

hi ,if you was having palpitations before and your ecg results are of no concern to your doctor could be anxiety symptoms…maybe ask your doctor to give you an explanation or consider switching the med if it’s not working ….do you feel any better mood wise ?

I was starting to feel much better mentally but then as these physical symptoms continue I'm finding it harder to keep it together. I'm constantly trying to work out what's wrong now as I feel the doctors aren't listening to me. I'm also on propranolol.

Lovehoney34, I am not a doctor but I can give you some advice as to what I know

about propranolol (which I was on at one time) I wasn't on it very long because of

the symptoms I experienced which made me unable to stand upright. I literally crawled.

It dropped my b/p very low which gave me those pins and needles effect and other signs.

As for the medication you are taking with it, Lofepramine, it has not been approved for

use in the U.S. However, I did some research on it and it is a Tricyclic drug used for

depression. The drug comes up as experimental with a lot of questions unavailable.

Is this your regular doctor prescribing this for you?

After 4 weeks, I would be questioning them about the severity of your symptoms.

Maybe the 2 drugs together are causing this reaction. Only 64% of patients have

some relief. (which is normal). For your safety and reassurance if you can't get any

answers from your doctor, please ask the pharmacist. They are very knowledgeable

not only with the drug themselves but the interactions of other medications with it
