I haven't posted in a while since getting my ESA and starting EMDR. I've experienced a lot of improvement and have adjusted well to the Citalopram which leaves me feeling more alive than the Sertraline I was on. I've been feeling contemplative lately about motivation. What are some things that motivate you all?
I'll start, my ESA cat Doug motivates me to get up and play with him and relax when he wants a nap. My husband motivates me to take care of myself and use kinder language with myself. The opportunity to help others motivates me as well.
I would love to hear some of your motivations.

I am very motivated to have a house for my family, I love the feeling of movement and sweat and accomplishment that motivates me to exercise. I am motivated at work by a desire to help my team succeed (aside from the monetary motivation and wanting to provide) I am motivated to learn by curiosity. I am motivated to rest by exhaustion 😁☮️
What has you contemplating motivation? I got to a really relaxed spot for a minute in life and I think I almost got to complacency, the opposite of where I usually am in life where I feel like a failure and that I have to do a million things to "succeed".
I got thinking about motivation because I am starting to try to nurture it. I was on Sertraline for about 6 months and lost almost all my motivation as a feeling and had to intellectually motivate myself. Now I think I can start to feel it again and want to encourage it and nurture it.
since I’m retired in the last section of my life, I find it much of my motivation is centered around God. Trying to be more humble, to be a better servant, and hopefully to get my butt into his playground. I can’t imagine how amazing the after party will be.
