Which medication has been found to work best?
Hi Sufferingbad...It's not so much about advising you as to what medications have
worked for us but for your doctor to know what's best for you.
2 1/2 weeks is not long enough to see any benefits yet. It's takes time for the
medication to work. Approximately 4-6 weeks, a little more if the dosage is increased.
Jumping around to a different med within a short time can make you miss the one
that will be the best for you.
Work with your prescribing doctor as to how you feel. Are you in therapy as well?
Therapy is helpful in addressing the root cause of your issues. I wish you well
Please give it a little more time. Let us know how you are doing down the road xx
I completely agree with Agora 1. 2 1/2 weeks is not enough time to know if a medication is going to work or not. I perfectly understand that you want relief now, but you could have the right medicine, your body just needs time to get to the levels you need. Everyone is different and what works for one may not work on another. Try to be patient and keep working with your doctor to find the best fit for you.
Keep in mind that it can take 4-6 weeks, or even up to 8 weeks to really feel the full effects of a new med. Also, how people react is incredibly personalized, and unfortunately sometimes takes a bit of trial and error. My advice would be to give it at least a month before you decide it isn't helping. Then, reach out to your doctor if you feel it still isn't helping and get their advice. They want to try adjusting your dose before trying something else.
