I have health anxiety and I am always afraid of catching some illness. Of course COVID made me even more fearful. I am taking my first flight in 6 years this week. It’s my mother-in-law s 90th birthday so I have to go. I’m feeling so nervous about being around so many people in the airport and on the plane. Any advice on how to handle the trip?
Thank you.

I am sorry that you are feeling anxious Redwod. It is hard nowadays with all of the stuff going around. I am glad that you have something to celebrate though!
I think that nervousness and excitement are closely related and breathe into one another. When I have to deal with the masses of humanity I like to try to get into the excitement mindset and people watch. Where is this person going? Do they have a job interview? Are they going to an athletic event? To see old friends? To a marriage?
This doesn't help a lot with the health anxiety, but I think that is its own box of worms. I always recommend "Feeling Great" by David Burns. There is also the Feeling Good podcast. Know you are not alone in feeling health anxiety☮️
