feeling alone
Stop expecting them to?
Optimistic50, I think each one of us eventually goes through that period of feeling
so alone in this world. People around us don't understand. But why keep hitting our
head against a deaf audience who can't comprehend the severity of a sightless disorder.
The words "Anxious" and "Headache" are so loosely used now a days. When I'd tried
explaining to someone what I went through with my anxiety as well as migraines, they
didn't have a clue of the intensity of these illnesses. Their response was "Oh yeah, I'm
anxious too or Oh yeah I get headaches too".
That's when I decided not to share my personal experiences to others who didn't
understand. It only made me feel more alone.
This HU community was a perfect fit for all who need that kind, caring person who
has been through the same journey. YouTube also became my "go to" in listening to
personal and professional videos on Anxiety. Believe me we are not alone.. Millions
upon millions of people in this world suffer from Mental Health Issues. We're here
for each other. No judgements, no put downs, just kind caring support. xx
If you're not in therapy you might consider doing so, being able to be heard and validated is very helpful and if you find you are working with a therapist that isn't helping or validating you, don't be afraid to fire them and find another to work with.
talk to pepole on here. Whats on your mind
I totally get that. I think I just began understanding I have my own unique experience of life, and the more I embrace it and understand it, it actually helps others to understand it more somehow. It can feel difficult when you want someone to lean on. But, as I went through a time of having no one, I learned to stand up for my own life through that difficult time. and it helped with seeing myself more clearly, my own drive and will to live, and how there is a strength hidden in all of us. and that this is our life. There is always help available too, but sometimes it may be that we need to be there for ourselves first. It's a process to learn how to do that, but it can be as small as respecting your feelings to the same degree you respect another's.
