hello everyone, iv been depressed lately and I don't know what to do. I work from home and stay with my family in a small town where there isn't much to do. Since moving here a year ago I hardly get out of the house, at most, I get out of the house once a month or not at all. My friendships kinda died off when I moved so now I have no friends left. My family all kinda do their own thing away from each other. Recently my stepmother who is an alcoholic wrecked her car while drinking and driving and this has caused a lot of stress in the house because this isn't the first time this has happened and my parents have been fighting a lot. I take anti-depressants to help me cope with everything but lately, they aren't helping, when I'm not working I have a hard time getting out of bed, and I kinda started dreading the weekends. I'm saving up to move out but I'm not sure when that will be or where I'll move to, iv only ever lived in two towns my whole life. I just feel so sad all the time. I feel so alone all the time. I don't know what to do.

Your Dr will probably change your medication if it’s no longer working. Many people are treatment resistant though.
I totally understand the depression. I haven’t left my house unless necessary for months. I have started early retirement. The longer I’m home, the more I don’t want to leave. I am looking into getting a part time job or even volunteering. When working outside the home and being around others, I felt completely different!
In your situation, it would be good for you to find a reason to have to get out of the house, especially on the weekends A commitment to be somewhere will probably make us nervous, but I truly believe it will help! The distraction from problems is also a benefit.
I hope you and I will decide do this. .
Do you have a diagnosis?
I'm sorry things are so rough right now. You have my empathy. I know it's hard, but anything you can do to get out of the house may help - even if it's just a 5 minute walk. And you are not alone, we are here for you.
