Type of Anxiety I have

Hey friends

I’ve been in treatment since 1995 and have researched the symptoms I have. I’m wondering if anyone has an opinion what how to label what I have.

I explain it has extremely tight and clenched hands. Arms and chest too. Especially bad after waking up. Feels like bombs have gone off all night in my room.

Head feel like a fog so dense that a chainsaw can’t cut thru it and inside of my skull has weights hanging off it. Can’t read when it’s bad for shit. Thinking either.

Only thing that has helped has been 30 then 60 mg of Busiprone a day. Up from 5 then 10 a day.

So many people talk about their anxiety differently than what I would explain. Yea some tenser situations would heighten it some but not really much worrying associated with it, like many talk about.

I figure you guys probably have better answers than the damn doctors

Thanks for any input or guesses

Much love

Craig

Hiya Craig.... I don't know other than generalized anxiety disorder. I think that clenching is often associated with that. My anxiety manifests in tightening of throat and chest, and often I feel my intestines are wrapped up like a rag you're wringing water out of. This also affects my digestion. I don't really care about my diagnosis if something helps and I can find peace, but it probably would help with communicating stuff. I wish you peace, hope, and strength.☮️

Thank you for your response. I agree I don’t really care since things are so greatly lessened but if I’m going to give advice and try to relate to others here but in other forms and fashions it good to know more if I can.

I really appreciate you responding

Hi there. Dont waste time and energy trying to figure out what type of anxiety you have because they are all the same thing. Fear is the root cause of them all, regardless of the label given by the medical profession. Usually, the most common reason why people continue to suffer is because they have become fearful of the symptoms of anxiety and unwittingly created a vicious cycle. They fear the feelings of fear which creates more fear and the very symptoms they are trying to get rid of!

To break that cycle, you must face and accept those feelings instead of continually struggling with them. It is that very struggle, fighting to think and feel better that keeps the whole anxiety show on the road.

Genuine acceptance of all anxiety symptoms hoists the white flag and the sufferer completely surrenders to anxiety, giving it a free rein to do what it wants without resistance.

So long as there is no underlying medical or other problem causing the anxiety, acceptance paves the way to full recovery.

I respectfully disagree in my case Beevee. Mine is not fear based at all. I am also not a typical bipolar patient. Ran my own sucessful business for 35 years with a massive manic episode towards the end of my career of 4 years. Highly unusual to the norm. A brain than has been diagnosed as work 100 times faster than most.

My anxiety is not like what anyone is describing , so how can I help others without truly knowing what I have and now new med mgs has taken away 80-90% of my symptoms .

I also developed and ran my own successful non profit helping disadvantaged youth get better educated in 2005 . I donated it in 2010 to a board member who works with it in the foster care system.

Since finally being diagnosed bipolar in 2010( admittedly extremely ignorant to the world of mental health for many years-family too) I have been very sick and now I’m not , so I will be back in the helping business soon after a bit more healing is complete .

I’m a different bird in many ways but always loving and caring on others . Might even start a new non profit working with those in the mental challenges world .

Cant be as much of a help without further educated myself in many ways

Appreciate your opinions. I learn from all

Much love

Craig

Hi Craig. The symptoms you describe are common amongst anxiety sufferers. Muscle tension can cause weird sensations as well as IBS symptoms.

There are many different symptoms and one sufferer will often have different symptoms to others. If you want to learn more about anxiety and all that goes with that, look up Dr Claire Weekes. Her books are the A to Z of anxiety and depression and more importantly, explain how to recover in the way I described above . For further education, visit anxietynomore.co.uk

Best wishes!
