I’m just coming up 14 days on sertraline. My anxiety level is still an issue in a morning but gets better during the day. Anyone else?

Yeah I struggled alot when I was first on sertraline same dose aswell. I find my anxiety gets worse through out the day x
hi there, most if not all anti depressants will generally take anything from 6 to 8 weeks before they start to take effect. 14 days is still in the early stages. Bear with them and if you still don’t feel like they are working after 6-8 weeks contact your doctor and see if there is an alternative option or maybe an increased dose.
Don’t give up.
YES! I have the same problem every single morning. I wake up with anxiety but by 5pm I feel better and I have good nights. I go to bed and wake up with anxiety again. I haven't found a solution. I take Prozac for my depression and Xanax for anxiety but the Xanax doesn't help with the waking up anxiety. I hate it!!
I’ve used Prozac before and it worked great for years.
I've been on sertraline for about 5 years now. I remember my doctor saying the first two weeks I would likely feel it in my gut, the second two weeks in my head and by 6 weeks it would be fully in my system. Since you are two weeks in you might start seeing benefits but it's still really early.
My anxiety was worse in the morning too. I always looked forward to the evening when all of the extra energy/ overthinking was out of my system.
It will get much better. The dosage may get adjusted to fit your specific needs. It does work and has helped my life! Hang in there!
Early days yet. You should start to feel better in about another week, although it can take up to six weeks for some folk..
Cheers, Midori
Hi, it took about three weeks before positive effects started on this med for me. But dr did say can take 4-6 weeks to get full benefits. Did make me feel tingly and bit restless in the beginning but that all went and definitely positive impact for me. Have taken before for about a year, 5 years ago. But back on it again now.
