I just got back from my 1st therapy session of the year, and not much has changed but 1 goal: to do something for myself. Any ideas on what to do... she said self care will make me feel better and I'm down to try anything. But this new year brings new challenges. My relationship is still broken and I'm about to lose my home... I don't know what to do anymore but I haven't lost hope I'm bound and determined to do what I can to make it through

Self care was really hard for me to do when I first started therapy. It took me awhile to figure out what it would be for me. I think the first thing I did, and actually enjoyed it, was to go sledding with my son at the time. Whatever decide to do, big or small, I hope you enjoy it.
This will sound crazy... but what I am doing for me is... decluttering. I found a Facebook group about a week ago. I am doing a 5-day declutter challenge. There is one live video a day, some homework... soooo many posts with pictures and success stories. So, I have been thinking about decluttering and that leaves less time to think about bad things. And I really want a decluttered home so this is win-win for me.
I also found a new psychologist. (My last one retired a year ago.) I researched on the licensing website and chose one with experience in all my problem areas. I've only seen him once. Told him that I wanted to deal with sleep issues first. I am keeping a sleep log and writing down what I think about before sleep or what I am thinking about that gives me insomnia. So, I am hopeful about this.
Self care is all about taking time for yourself to do something you enjoy. It could be something like watching a movie, reading a book, meditating, getting a massage, or taking a bath. I am so glad you have not lost hope. I am sure your determination will get you through.
You *could* make a 2024-To-Do-List. On it would be a list of things that you would like to do this year, ex: ride your bike, ride a Harley Davidson, do a (or, many) kart wheel(s), draw something, paint your fingernails, etc. If you do anything on the list, be sure to congratulate yourself- YOU are worth it! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
