My family and I are currently struggling with food ATM. It sucks because I'm recovering from anorexia, well trying. It's a work in progress. But mom gets SSI and goes to her bills and all. They get food stamps, but enough to last a full month. I'm not sure what to do. I'm hungry and I leave what few things we have for them . I start working the 19th, but even then I won't be paid til every 2 weeks
I feel like life just keeps knocking me down

Gosh, it hurts me to read this. The donut shops and grocery store bakeries throw out food at night that they can't sell. Can you ask the managers if you can stop by at the end of the night to buy reduced inventory? Also, the local churches might know of places you can get food. If you're one of those that don't like being preached to, the Catholic church would be a good starting point to ask for suggestions. It sounds like you already get food stamps. Does the agency that issues food stamps have any other resources for you to check out?
Go to local agencies for food assistance. Some churches have food pantries. Places like st vincent depaul and the Salvation Army might be able to help also. Your mom may be eligible for something like meals on wheels. Check with your DHS office for program information. I wish you and your family all the best. Been there…
I was going to ask about food pantries. We had to do that for a time. Also check with local churches to see if they have food drives along with food banks in your area.
There's a churches here that do food handouts. Sometimes it's hit and miss. Like what am I going to do with a 5lb bag of caramel from Baskin and Robbins and a case of Captain Crunch. But 1 church my dad went to gave him a care of peanut butter, corn 🌽 fresh corn and fresh carrots. I know why they were handing them out because they were "ugly" carrots. They weren't all straight. They were misshapen lol but still edible. Huge thing of grits and tuna. Not bad take.
Im not anorexic but I struggle with food myself. I have a fear of getting sick and throwing up. So I worry about what I eat. But I'm pushing myself to eat when I'm hungry. And that puking is something that happens. Usually it's a good thing because something didn't sit well and it's my body's way of correcting it.
