my name is Kendra Kanzler, for the past 3 days I stopped taking my anxiety meds, as I had to cancel my physical do to a cold that I didn’t want to go to the clinic sick and get my doctor staff sick. Umm, so I thought I could tough it out, well it didn’t work well for me. I lost my mind. And I got into a idk what you want to call it but a big talk with my mom about my behavior and I haven’t been able to get over it so. I have been heavily suckling all day. My poor boyfriend has done almost everything he could think of to help me and yeah. I just need a support group. I am on here for my daughter but not myself so.

Glad to have you here with us kanzler. I was born in '87 as well.
Right away I can tell you are a good person. When you mentioned that you didn't want to get your doctors staff sick, it is rare to find people that actually care about this kind of thing. If more people were as responsible as you are, we would be seeing much less sickness in these winter months.
So I just wanted to thank you for being considerate to others. And I am certainly cheering for you to get through this suffering. It certainly takes strength, and the support of others (as you will find here).
what meds did you just stop taking? if you abruptly stop taking most meds being the toughest person in earth won’t stop it from majorly screwing you up. if you want to do something for your daughter or boyfriend or mother or most importantly yourself, you should avoid doing that and make a plan with your prescriber about tapering off the drug.
If your anxiety meds were benzos you cannot stop taking them cold turkey (i.e., you cannot jus quit one day). You need to taper off them. If you were on a benzo (lorazepam, klonopin, or xanax) and that's what you did, you are feeeling withdrawal effects. And if you were on a large dose and/or for a long time, withdrawal efffects can be VERY serious, both mentally and physically. You need to get back on your regular dose right away and then if you want to stop, set up a tapering off plan. See your doctor or go to an ER and tell them you were forced to go cold turkey off of whatever you were taking; they should know what to do. Can you not get a refill without a physical? If your med was not a benzo, Google it and see if you can go cold turkey off it, and what withdrawal effects are. Most people cannot quit any psychiatric med (which is what anti-anxiety meds are) cold turkey.
