What do I do?

I got a new job working for Ulta Beauty and I started today but they told me that since the manager already put out a schedule I have to wait 2 or 3 weeks to start working which makes no sense because they decided to hire new people at the last moment and all of a sudden they aren't going to put me on the schedule. This job is seasonal, it's only till February, and in 2 weeks it is Christmas, the whole thing makes no sense, the whole point in applying for jobs is to pay bills and also get money for Christmas presents. I haven't even finished training, all I did today was do online training, and wasn't fully done and they told me the next time I get scheduled I will be doing training online and in person like wtf! Then I found out one of the girls that was in the interview with me is already working so how is it that she gets to be on the schedule but not me? What do I do? Do I call them and say hey I need to work, I need the money that I need to be scheduled? or just wait till 2 or 3 weeks and see if I even get scheduled at all, like the manager wasn't even sure when I would even be put on the schedule. Like I don't know What I do? or if you have been through this before with any company? let me know.

If asking doesn't lead to getting scheduled, you can try looking for a new job while you are waiting to get scheduled and see which comes up first getting scheduled or getting a new job. This does seem odd considering it's a busy time of year. I think stores get busy with inventory after the holiday. Was that why you were hired.

I would definitely call and inquire. I hope you are getting paid for training?
