thought I’d share this from my recent therapy session that make me real I don’t know, gave me hope?
So I chewed tobacco or smoked cigarettes from 12-33. It was real close to the time I started having mental health issues. Anyway I’ve quit for over a year now and it didn’t really dawn on me that this could be a huge cause to my issues.
Anyway, during therapy I was talking to her about this and she maybe suggested I’m just learning how to process things without the chew.. really makes sense!
Hoping that eventually things get easy, my main issue is that every day normal things completely stress me out and well we all know how that goes.. anyway, prayers for you all.

Thanks for sharing! A lot of us here have anxiety and it’s the absolute worst! I only have suffered with it the past year or so and I really hope it’s just a phase! Hey ho all in this together!
Yeah I do it’s more common than you think. My boyfriend suffers with it too. We both get relief from it when we are together to be fair. But my brother, one of my best friends too! It’s hard to understand until you experience it yourself.
sounds good Dadoffour! it is always nice to understand things. So the mental illness symptoms began after you quit? The good things always have to be hard I guess... Do you feel you were able to process before you started chewing/smoking?
Yeah after I quit I think my stress levels kept going up. I did struggle with anxiety prior but that was really exacerbating which let to my first depression.
Still today I am struggling with reducing or dealing with stress.
hard to say about processing, I think I did to an extent but I guess I couldn’t say if I would be in this position if I hadn’t quit. I am glad I did quit for a million reasons dont get me wrong!
