TMS therapy?

Hi everyone! I am new here. I hope everyone is feeling the best they can at this moment. I just had a quick question. Has anyone tried TMS therapy? I just scheduled a consultation for tomorrow. Did anyone get good results? How were the side affects? I have been on almost all anti depressants, anti psychotic, and anxiety meds forever. My biggest disability is my MDD. I can handle my anxiety and ptsd on meds, but my depression doesn't really get better. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I would rather have info from real people instead of Google. Thanks everyone!

Hi Thoreesa, Yes I have Tried TMS and it was about 35 treatments. The very first night I felt like my depression was totally gone. I was thrilled! I continued with the treatments, and it is a lot of discipline to go at least 3x a week depending on what they think is best for you. Unfortunately, I continued to go for the whole 35 treatments and was right back where I started. Very depressed.

However, I hear it works wonders for others. It is always an individual thing, situation just like taking all these medications. I hope you are one of the success stories and I hope your insurance will pay because it is not cheap. Best of luck.

Thank you so much for your reply. Yes, my insurance covers it. I wouldn't be able to get it done if I had to pay out of pocket. I'm so sorry it didn't last for you! I'm kind of out of options, so I'm going to give it a try

Good for you! You let me know how you feel okay Wishing you the best. I also tried ketamine infusion and Spravato didn't go well but several people in the support group were having positive results.

I tried TMS. I went 5 days a week for 6 weeks. That got me into the habit of leaving the house, which I wasn't doing before. I did not notice any benefit with depression. "Today I welcome hope" I would definitely give it a try and have that hope. I did not have any side effects at all.

I'm sorry it didn't work for you. It will actually get me out of the house also, I don't remember the last time I left the house for anything other than doctors appointments. I appreciate your reply, and I wish you all the best!

Tabby-5 may I ask what symptoms of depression you had that this alleviated at least temporarily?

I had TMS last November. At first it didn't really seem to work. After my last session I felt so much better. It doesn't last to long though. It lasted maybe 5 months for me. I want to get another round of sessions but it is very expensive for me.
