Asking for words of support please

Hi, next week I have a VA eval for PTSD/ Depression increase. I know it’s God’s will whatever the decision, but it causes anxiety, esp. when the person evaluating has no idea of my daily battle with depression/ anxiety. Also, a lot of self blaming/ feeling ashamed. Thank you for listening. Hope you’re doing okay.

Good morning, I don't know your story, but I do know, from my perspective, you have nothing to be ashamed of. I have struggled with shame most of my life. Most of that shame has come from rejections from others. That is one of the most painful feelings you can have and to overcome. For me, I name it for what it is and feel those raw feelings. I don't fight it or cover it up and sit in it until those intense feelings pass some. It works sometimes and sometimes it doesn't. If I'm into it before I catch it I use my go to which is, dessert's 🤗There's really isn't any right or wrong you just have to find what work's for you. God knows your struggles and you can trust Him with it. You are the apple of His eye, He knows how many hair's in on your head. Wow, thats pretty intimate. We need each other when our struggles get to be a burden to us. I hope this has been a help in some way. I'm with you!

It is tough going through these exams. I would suggest you let the examiner know how you feel on your worst days, not just on the day of your exam. There is a lot of support on Reddit - Veterans Benefits. Check them out and good luck next week. I recently applied for a supplemental review for an increase and was denied. I guess I’ll try again in the future. I need to take a little time off before I begin my battle again.

You’re right, He has blessed me so far. I don’t leave the house often because the DEP/ anxiety, so it’ll be a challenge He’ll help me overcome. Thank you!
