Buspirone
I was prescribed some to take as needed and never felt that it did anything. I think I took up to 30mg in one dose and didn't notice anything. I am also on venlafaxine so maybe that already had done whatever buspirone may have done. I think if you search buspirone on the search for this chat a ton of chats will come up.
Were you prescribed it for anxiety? I took it many years ago and my memory is that I had no response to it. I don't recall the dose. I've been prescribed over 25 meds for mental health over the past 15 years and I don't remember what else I was taking at the time.
I would say it's worth trying to stick with a new medication for longer than a week though. Many meds for mental health can take a month or longer to notice any effect. Of course if you feel worse then call your provider right away and let them know but if you don't feel any immediate change it might be worth staying with it for at least a month.
It can take 2 to 4 weeks to start making any difference so give it time to see if it works for you.
I tried it for a month and it did absolutely nothing except give me a very dry mouth and make my head feel funny. Called the Dr. today and went off it and am now trying Wellbutrin to calm my anxiety. I already am taking Venlafaxine for depression which has worked well for 7 years but Dr. said my problem now sounds like anxiety. When not depressed, I am a very happy person and feel like I am a very blessed person. But when I am depressed ........
