Hi I am a 61 year old Man living in Ireland.I have suffered from Depression most of life and Anxiety since I was a teenager.

These illnesses caused me to have a difficult life but I pulled through all the same.

In the last 15 years my Mental Health has improved mainly due to little or no alcohol intake and a stricter regime. For example I am rarely in bed after 10 o'clock at night and I rise around 6am. I walk more and eat a better diet.

As I am a lifelong Sufferer of Mental Health problems I think I will be able to add to this community as well as gaining from it.

Thanks for reading this🙂

Hello and welcome. We have age in common, I'm 62. I have suffered from anxiety most of my life, which I was able to manage until menopause and Covid, when the anxiety went through the roof. I have learned a lot from reading other posts, and from therapy. I try to contribute when I feel I have something to add. You are from Ireland? I LOVE Ireland. My husband, my youngest son and I visited Ireland before the pandemic and it is a beautiful place. I think the Irish people are some of the nicest people on earth.

Thanks for the welcome. Yes I too suffer from Anxiety it is as bad an illness as Depression I think . My anxiety makes it very difficult to mix with people. Thus I never had much of a social life. But I am delighted you visited Ireland and enjoyed the holiday. It is a lot like the UK as it has nice Scenery and easy going people.

I hope to try to help people who have Mental Health problems too by posting to this website.
